Hello everyone
I have recently had genetic testing with regard to methylation pathways. Below is a link to my results. I am just starting to research what it all means. Any advice would be gratefully received.
Many Thanks

I've been looking into DNA and the methylation pathway quite a bit myself recently. Seems like the obvious place to go if you have all the symptoms of B12d but no relief from B12 supplementation alone. However, I still have yet to find any relief down this course of investigation.
Your results look fairly normal, frankly. The biggest thing is the MTHFR A1298C mutation, which is less of a concern compared to the C677T from my understanding but still something to look into. The only other thing you're homo for is MAO A, which IIRC is such a common mutation that it's barely worth a second thought. I have it, too.
Looks like the lab that tested your sample gave you some good information along with the results. I'd suggest studying that closely. You can also get a lot of the information in video form if you search Youtube for "MTHFR". Then head over to SNPedia to look up what the individual mutations mean.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
Hi
It all looks very complicated! Something I have been considering doing via 23and me. Do you mind me asking how you ordered this and the cost?
I presume the homozygous MTHFR SNP means you need methylfolate rather than folic acid? Or am I getting mixed up? Sorry- don't know a lot about this.
Others have mentioned websites e.g. genetic genie on here.
Hello Secondchance
The test was about £300 and my endo ordered it. It is v complicated and from my research I think you are correct that I need methyl folate.
Thanks for your reply
Wow- expensive! Your Endo must be on the ball to order genetic testing. Perhaps they can help with the interpretation of the results?
He has put me in touch with a nutricienist who will interpret for me.
