Can anyone tell me if the injectable B12 Cyanocobalamin is recommended? I'm hoping to get this from Goldpharma.
Also, where do you buy your needles? Thanks.

Are you in the uk? Hydroxcobalamin is used here but some people try them all before knowing which benefits most. Have a read - b12deficiency.info/b12-trea...
Re needles, there's a link on Dr Chandy's page to Medisave - (scroll down) b12d.org/buying-vitamin-b12...
Most people seem to buy hydroxocobalamin and use medisave for needles, syringes etc see:
search for hydroxocobalamin
medisave.co.uk/consumables-...
ore info to be found on old PAS forum
pernicious-anaemia-society....
go to section diagnosis and treatment, then topic where to source supplies .
Kind regards,
Marre.
PS I use cyanocobalamin self bought (as it stings less) and get hydroxocobalamin from surgery.
I use a mixture of hydroxo and methyl (but mainly as nasal spray/drops as that works well for me) as they deal with different sets of symptoms - find hydroxo is good for my neuropsychiatric but methyl works better for the neuro.
I inject hydroxo as a fallback if things are going to be quite stressful for me or if I have a heavy cold - as at present, but I inject sub-cutaneously rather than intramuscular
Thank you. Just ordered this one, and will see how it goes:

Btw you mention colds. I'm having success keeping flu/colds at bay using large dosages of vit c (L-ascorbic acid). I use to suffer from hayfever, and a runny nose. I've also noticed a slight reduction in my fatigue. Bear in mind I'm also taking vit d too.
That's the one that I use for most of my injections. Just be aware that it is 1mg/2ml compared to the 1mg/1ml normally used in the UK. That means that it is the same (1mg) amount of hydroxo but is in a more dilute solution so there is twice the volume of liquid which may influence your choice of syringe.
I get my b12 from my gp, it took a while but in the end they were ok about me keeping them at home as I showed them that I was ok about giving the injections to myself. I got more support from my district nurse than my gp but she was more than happy with the needles I got from medisave and the fact that I had brought a sharps bin and needle swabs as well. It is worth asking your gp about you keeping ampules of b12 as the ones that I bought were nowhere near the correct dosage that I need (they were 10 times too low) and I have ended with with nerve damage in my hands and feet.
That's fine if your GP is prepared to prescribe enough B12 to meet your needs. but very few of us are in that fortunate position. My GP will only prescribe enough hydroxo for an injection every two months and as I need an injection every two weeks to maintain optimum health it leaves me with no option but to buy my own supplies.
methylcobalamin is the best b12 injection and can be bought from oxford biosciences (type in)
i repeat that methylcobalamin is the best b12 injection research has shown this to be so but please yourself
I'm simply pointing out that there is no universal best form of B12. I agree that the general consensus is that methyl is the most effective form but I can assure you that there are some people for whom methyl is most certainly not the most effective form of B12. I don't pretend to understand why that should be but one theory is that those people lack the ability to convert methylcobalamin to adenosylcobalamin but are able to convert cyanocobalamin or hydroxocobalamin to both methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin. An alternative for them, of course, would be to supplement with both methyl and adenosyl.
I disagree. Methyl is the best for some people, as are Cyanocobalamin and hydroxocobalamin for others, in some cases a combination of types. It is good that you have found the optimum one for you, but it is too simplistic to suggest that there is a one size fits all best treatment and I feel might mislead those that are new to the subject.
i state once more that research has shown that methyl b12 is the best and that has been proven beyond doubt you make a lot of assumptions that i am self injecting where did you get that info from ---- i am in research so there you would to both look at and read the research
its strange how some people simply will not take the research on board even when it is staring them in the face ---dr chandy recommends and states methyl is the best ---and the purest and is best absorbed in the body if yo want to use second best like hydroxocobalamin then that is up to you but that is what it is second best----- so you can keep using it and keep on getting second rate benefits and stop trying to get one over on me and what i know to be the facts----with regards to cyanocobalamin it is worse than useless ---and is also known to contain cyanide --so there--- one might as well be sucking a smarty the facts are the facts
take a chill pill and grow up and stop trying to pull your hair out if you have any thats if you have any maybe you need some methyl to help it to grow i dont stamp my feet in front of children like you will just treat you like the child you are i wont be reading any more of your replies and will delete them before reading such childish comments i would rather not communicate with children such as you -----shows that you have already when you have to use such sarcasm and not listen to your betters as i said i will delete any of your comments and not read such rubbish
Thank you drumdoit, and everyone else for your suggestions.
I'm personally feel much better on hydroxocobalamin
For goodness sake keep all toys in respective prams, the heat of parts of this discussion are helping no-one. For a start Methyl is not so easily available and the wonderful Dr Chandy, with the best will in the world, cannot help all of us. In the meantime we can help people get well (or at least find improvement to symptoms with the products that are affordable and easily available to them. BrecklandRanger please do not let this put you off asking further questions if you need to.
personaly I need both methly and Hydrox if I stop ether I go down hill fast, (starting to think I may need adeno), It's about finding what works for you.
Hydrox is a fraction of the price of methly, so if this works for you all the better, there's no way I could afford more methly than I already use.
