I take Swansons sublinguals 5mgs. since buying my last lot, I have noticed they have gone up in price. I'm not counting the pennies , but just wondered if anyone has a preference of make, and is there any dfference in the cheaper one's ?

I hadn't heard of Swanson so looked them up- are they American? I have used solgar and Jarrow. To be honest I'm not sure if they make much difference, whereas with hydroxocobalamin injections, they definitely do make a significant difference. The thing is though, injections are definitely going into the system, but you can't be sure with the other forms- it is probably more of a slow drip feed. I take those tabs daily anyway.

I'm not sure if they are American, I get mine from Amazon [ I seem to remember that the " b12d" site recomended them ] they seem to suit me bringing my B12 up from 226 to over 2000. I was just curious as to wether all makes are the same, and why the price difference.

Bowler, I thought you said they didn't work for you. Even though your B12 is 2000? This happened to me with cyanocobalamin but I still felt depressed and fatigued although the shaking and macrocytosis had gone. I seem to be just a malabsorption sufferer, certainly not p.a. Because of my age, 66, vegan and taking H2 blockers (essential as I have a h.hetnia and waiting for the op so I don't have to take them anymore. I also had nitrous oxide for a radius manipulation that completely depleted my low levels that I already had, they don't seem to recognise that either until I tell them and look it up! ) I feel the sublingually work better. I read an article once about high B12 levels saying it could mean the liver can't process it and sends the B12 back to the bloodstream but my doc doesn't agree even though I printed out the article for him. I just have to treat myself.
