Isradipine calcium phase 3 clinical trial: slow PD progression?

An ongoing, NIH sponsored, Phase 3 clinical trial in North America is testing the ability of one member of the dihydropyridine class (isradipine) to slow PD progression in early stage patients. The review summarizes the rationale for the trial and outlines some unanswered questions.

Very timely.

According to Simon's latest SoPD blog post:

"On the 4th May, the results of the STEADY-PD [Phase III] study will be announced at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Neurology in Philadelphia."

Hopefully! I’m on 12.5 mg daily of Isradipine. for my BP. It is working excellent for that. My neuro suggested it and my Internist agreed and zero side effects, unlike other BP meds I was on.
