STEADY-PD III was a Phase 3, parallel group, placebo-controlled 36 months study evaluating the efficacy of isradipine 10mg daily as a disease modifying agent in early PD. The primary outcome looked at change in ON state UPDRS I-III from baseline to 36 months.

An ongoing, NIH sponsored, Phase 3 clinical trial in North America is testing the ability of one member of the dihydropyridine class (isradipine) to slow PD progression in early stage patients. The review summarizes the rationale for the trial and outlines some unanswered questions.

He didn't know what the DATscan showed, hadn't heard of Isradipine, and referred me to a neurologist appointment (back in June - appointment January 23rd. I just tried to change it, and next available is June 2019.

Isradipine, I can cheat. I have (borderline) hypertension and my UK GP had me on Amlodopine which I blamed for DIP before the DATscan confirmed true (quite advanced) PD. I stopped taking Amlodopine, but my French GP is prepared to prescribe Isradipine.

Also, I am in a blind clinical trial, and may be taking isradipine 10 mg twice a day (I don't know if it's that or a placebo). Does it seem as if I am overmedicated for the extent of my symptoms?

In addition, a few others — for example, isradipine — have been used for years to treat other health conditions and supplements such as NAC and inosine. Does anyone have experience with any of these Phase I / II trials? Phase I: AAV2-GDNF.
