We live in the age of distraction. Yet one of life's sharpest paradoxes is that your brightest future hinges on your ability to pay attention to the present.

Good article. I definitely need to live more in the present. Thanks for sharing.

🔹I have highlighted the key points of the above article:

🔸You Are Not Your Thoughts

🔸To improve your performance, stop thinking about it (unselfconsciousness).

🔸To avoid worrying about the future, focus on the present (savoring).

🔸If you want a future with your significant other, inhabit the present (breathe).

🔸To make the most of time, lose track of it (flow).

🔸If something is bothering you, move toward it rather than away from it (acceptance).

🔸 Know that you don't know (engagement).

my 90 yr old spiritual advisor, A priest and Monk, whom I've known for 48 years is in a care facility but that doesn't stop him. It's a long drive to meet with him. For years it was a pleasant drive to the monestary but now it's no more. A dear dear man who always advises to live in the moment. He calls it the Sacrament of the now moment. I really try but too often worry creeps in about things I must do or deal with. I have depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, diabetes (just meds.) So hard to get much housework done. Husband has Parkinson's so has given up on yard work so pays to have lawn mowed, when he did it free for others a few years ago. I don't want to think of the future. We have good kids but a couple of them just don't get it. Oct. is a big BD, Anniv. special events mo. and I'm struggling. I put up some halloween decorations outside but wind came up and it's a mess. then there's Chr. coming and more anxiety. I've bought stuff but have a hard time feeling good about giving them. Also grand daughters wedding in Dec. and one in Feb. I don't think I can cope. Well, we'll see how it goes.

You are still trying to meet the expectations of others.

Grandma Say the following out loud

"TO HELL with the others this is about the quality of my life and my husbands life"

Stop giving Christmas presents, the fact that you have consented to attend their Christmas dinner is good enough and do not bring anything . YOU have done enough.

Tell your family their father needs some help and to get their butts over to your place.

This is the golden years , pay back time , and they owe you big time. Once they realize that you are serious things will change , look into a seniors vacation in some nice place and spend some money on your selves, maybe try a seniors home , maybe sell the house and move in with your favorite . Try to think about you and your husband first , stop trying to do what others want all the time and stop worrying . Any of your children give you a hard time, tell them they are may be out of the will (do not tell them that there will not be any money left anyway because you have decided to spend it). Then go spend it. Take your grand kids to DISNEY LAND. visit the grand Canyon with your sister or friends .

its your turn, enjoy yourselves ,it is later than you think.

Love ya

distraction key to eliminating tremors and pain

If I notice I don't have tremors, they start

hard to stop them consciously

try to distract my mind from tremors with day dreams

or with centering prayer meditation

pain becomes like white noise

cannabis helps with distraction

Love > hate
