Just wanted to share about what helps me most at the moment. Sleep is so important for us.
The website is nothingmuchhappens.com (I listen in the Audible app) and it's billed as 'bedtime stories for grownups'. In fact it is more than that - it's a kind of brain training. The stories are simple but with plenty of inconsequential details for the brain to observe without triggering any stress etc. Each podcast is approx 30 mins long and the stories are read twice - the second time slightly more slowly. The more you listen the faster your brain recognises the signal to calm down. It doesn't work every time but it's become an essential part of my armoury...

Wow I just listened to about 20 seconds of a random sample and I couldn't see myself being able to stay awake for much longer! I bet it works really well to knock you out!
(this is just one example. There are plenty of TVs with this feature)
As we have a Roku, we find boring talks about Druids or whatnot on Rumble or Odysee. Puts me right to sleep. Video's on YouTube are not so great as they have blaring commercials that pop up. No commercials on Rumble or Odysee.
If you (anyone) has done the 23&me or ancestry.com genetic test, you can plug the info into a website Genetic Life Hacks and get a lot of useful information. Like genetic variants related to histamine, enzymes that metabolize different pharmaceuticals, etc. Note: the owner/author is not a medical professional but has done extensive research. There may be other similar sites but this one is free unless you want to order a summary report. I found I have a lot if genetic variants related to histamine, now I’m getting my histamine checked.
Yes I have. Many times and she even talks about how to use it in the night.
I use it for afternoon naps if I need to maximise the time available, getting to sleep if needed (but I'm like you - I can read a bit and drop off usually) but I definitely find it useful in the middle of the night. She says that with practice one wouldn't have to actually listen again, one could listen at bedtime and simply think through elements of the story on waking. I think she's right - I can feel my brain startling to 'recognise' the trigger but I do still actually listen if I wake up. I've been listening at least 3 months (on and off).
