B1 capsule or tablet

4g a day plus 100mg that is in the B-complex. Vitacost brand thiamin HCI, 500mg capsules, not tablets which are hard to swallow and tablets may not dissolve soon enough. Improved symptoms but not so much with tremor

I ordered 4 bottles of the solagar B-1 at the back it is 500 HCL

in reply to hanifab23

Solgar is trusted company dating back to 1947

in reply to hanifab23

See ingredient list. I recently switched to Vitacost because it is easy to swallow capsule. The Solgar tablet might not dissolve soon enough

I am puzzled by the different dosages shown for the Thiamin on different sites!! Most of them seem to say don’t exceed the dose which varies from 500mg to 10mg per day then on a medical site it gives max daily dose for moment as 1.1gms

am I reading this all wrong???,

in reply to Benidorm66

Yes

Hello, I googled Dr. Constantine’s name and I read an article where it’s quoted that he said the B1 amount to take is 600 mg per 60 kg of body weight . Hope this helps you. God bless.

PS 1kilo=2.2 pounds

in reply to Ajssister

He directed me and others, 4g daily

4g Thiamin HCL in capsules, a day plus 100mg that is in the B-complex. Vitacost brand thiamin HCL, 500mg capsules, not tablets which are hard to swallow and tablets may not dissolve soon enough. Improved symptoms but not so much with tremor as we need four months regimen

Hi RoyProp, thank you for posting. I appreciate it so much. May I ask if your dosage amount has to do with your weight? Or maybe the length of time you've been diagnosed pd? My bro is on board with the vitamin therapy. I'm just wondering how much. He is 215#. Thanks for your time.

in reply to Ajssister

Not weight related. The earlier you start, better. The longer you have P, say 20yrs, less effective

Navigating on this site, I have met you with a great willingness and great availability to help people. With information, own experiences, references to documentation, clarifications to help them take a step forward in the fight with Parkinson's.

You have become a model and we open our page with confidence to get treatment schedules, drug suppliers, supplement plans. Thank you for finding you here.

I would like to help you and you can also clear me on two issues related to Parkinson's 70 year old husband diagnosed since 2007.

First issue:

Dr Constantini has recently recommended that I have injected 100 mg / day of my B1 injection twice a week and would like to know if you started this and how long have you been feeling better and when you went to the capsules? Here I see that you use large doses of B1 daily and compare to what my husband does and I wonder how long he will feel a favorable effect at this small recommended dose because now after 13 injections in 6 weeks does not see anything. What is wrong? Can you give me some advice? Anything related to allopathic treatment?

The current allopathic treatment is:

- 3 tablets / day of levodopa / carbidopa / entacapone Teva 100mg / 25mg / 200mg -in

3 sockets - 4 dropped Isicom and added it with entacapone

- 1 tablet / day of Isicom (250mg levodopa / 25mg carbidopa) with 1/2 in 2 outlets

- 1 transdermal patch with Neupro 4 mg / 24 hours rotigotine

The second problem:

When do you start treatment with Mucuna Pruries do you still use Neupro patches?

Then the dose of levodopa allotted as long as it's been reduced since you took Mucuna?

Dr Constantini advised me to postpone Mucuna for the time being.

The big problem is that I would need all the resources that can be used immediately to get my husband out of exhaustion due to a severe left leg coxarthrosis that gives him unbearable and permanent pain that facilitates the onset of Parkinson's disease quickly. It has to be strong and able to go through a joint prosthesis surgery because we have no alternative.

in reply to bita94

See my profile. I do not mucuna, not injectable. Thiamin taken orally require 140 times the amount injected. It will take up to 4 months for full benefit. Having. Park for 20 - 30 years is tougher go.
