Have you been seen by a neurologist, or better yet, a Movement Disorder Specialist?

Yeh I've seen a neuro but it took 8 months and 3 neuros to come up with ' I think it's parkinsons' So I'm still not sure. Seems to be deteriorating quite quickly . From swimming in Malta in 2015 sept. To just about walking now ..

Neurologist should order a Dat Scan, this will tell you if you have parkinson's or not.

My story is similar except that it was my left side, which nearly in year 13 it still mainly is. Are you taking any meds? Have you had any scans or other diagnostic tests? If not, why not? If you are in UK whereabouts are you? Don't worry too much if it is PD a reasonable quality of life is possible & the support networks are wonderful (to me). At least you won't have the stress of uncertainty & you can start looking for trials.

Thanks for the reply , had several MRI 's but no dat scan. They also said I have cervical stenosis c5/6 but there ignoring that . Just going on cr sinemet which I find doesn't do anything. Thinking of going to a back specialist. Am living in U.K. Near Portsmouth.

Hi motorbiker I have foot drop years before my PD was discovered, probably caused by back problems leaving me with periphial neuropathy

( numbness is both lower legs constantly) I am not getting much help with that in the UK.

I had same issues on right side too and also diagnosed (in Hampshire) via multiple MRIs with cervical stenosis C5/6, Sherman's disease, osteoarthritis, scoliosis, rotator cuff tear and frozen shoulder before finally being diagnosed with PD which, now that I understand the range of PD symptoms, I realise I'd had for at least ten years.

Hi Motorbiker. Yes I have! Parkinson's disease affects any or all of the movements we make. The result of this is that anything you do without having to think about what you are doing, can give you problems.

Do this test: Stand up and hold onto the back of a kitchen chair. Stick your right leg out to the side of the chair and move your ankle up and down so that your toes point uphill and then straight in front of you. If you are able to do this, which I am sure you can, then you will see that you can consciously control your foot movements, but when you try to walk, your foot may not work properly.

Go to my website - reverseparkinsons.net and read how to deal with Pd and overcome many of the symptoms.

I had foot drop and chronic sore neck. Sore shoulder, developed what they diganosed as strain due to exercise. Was originally misdiagnosed with essential tremor and foot drop (as being unrelated) but as time went on the walking deteriorated and neck pain (stiffness more than pain) remained. Diagnosed with PD finally and started sinemet. The foot drop all but disappeared as did the tremor. Neck is always stiff even now. Only way to unfortunately know for sure is if you take sinemet and the symptoms disappear. Go to see both a neurologist and movement disorder specialist for guidance. Good luck.
