No scan, no blood test.

Hi there. I've recently been having symptoms such as dark urine, paler stools, liver pain and swelling, indigestion, stomach pain and burning along with weight loss and weird bowel movements and bleeding for nearly a month.

I went to my GP on the 8th of august two days after going to the hospital because of these symptoms in which i had to push for an ultra scan. I have been waiting since then with these symptoms upset everyday because of not knowing what the problem is as well as developing more symptoms and darker urine only to find out my ultra scan referal was not sent to the hospital at all. I am so upset. I have had no blood tests or other scans so I am just left here in the dark.

I am not sure but if anyone here has had these symptoms how long did it take you to get a blood test and/or scan?

I can't help but think my symptoms have not been taken seriously because of my age but as far as I know it is not impossible at any age to have cancer. I need a bit of advice on what my next steps should be (I have asked them to leave my scan referral at the front desk so i can give it in myself) if possible. Thank you i just felt the need to vent.

I was literally fast tracked from symptoms as you've described. Originally diagnosis was gall stones CT Scan arranged within a day results that afternoon which showed a tumour in the pancreas. Within a couple of days referred to top consultant at Manchester Royal infirmary had another scan which confirmed the tumour. A date for the whipple procedure surgery was set within two weeks. I think you need to demand a scan urgently!

Thank you! I'm 21 and feel like they will not take me serious at all. It's been over a month and NO diagnosis at all my problems still persist only this time my eating habits are back to normal and don't have back pain but get a vague dull pain in my central abdomen have another lymph node appear in my armpit but is slowly going down again. I had a blood test two weeks ago and i am still waiting for an ultra sound scan. I feel as though I have been too patient and it's unfair that it is taking so long. Thank you for your response though they need to act urgently until they can give me proof that it is truly nothing to worry about!
