Hello everybody.I am new here. I am having very hard times now as I think I have PC and am waiting for tests to rule this out.I(39F) had several months of digestive disturbances ( flatulence, burping, diarrhea) which had no cause revealed.
I was told this could be IBS.
Fast forward to the end of March, I started to have annoying upper/mid back pains..A couple of weeks later I got severe upper abdominal pain referred to the back and left side under the ribs and still having the pain almost everyday esp. after meals.
Now all the symptoms fit in the PC picture.I also noticed some weight loss despite eating normally.
I had a CT scan this week and the result was (Normal, nothing suspicious) as per 3 consultant radiologists..
Now I am waiting for an MRI scan scheduled tomorrow .Hope this also comes clear so I can get some relief after 7 months of suffering.
My question is is it common to have PC which is symptomatic for a long period and missing it on CT scan ? did anyone have an experience like this ?

Hi Iam going through everything you have said !! I lost a close friend with PC , so it in my head I might have it too …
Over last 2 years I’ve been back once a year for Ultra sound on liver, kidneys, pancreas and spleen as I have a couple small cysts on kidney and liver , they said nothing worry about but they will monitor ..
but the last few weeks I’ve had such pain in right shoulder middle back, pain around right side coming under my ribs , burping , so windy and loose stool everyday .I’ve got appointment with doctor next week .. Iam going to ask for CT scan this time , could I asked , what was the out come of all your troubles !! As I see this post was 5mths ago
Hello Sue I am sorry that you have some unresolved health issues. Since the post, I had an MRI and it was normal apart from a liver hemangioma( like birth mark) which is not a cause of concern. I also had endoscopic ultrasound, to see the pancreas clearly and it was also normal. No PC thank God. I was tested for celiac disease and it came back negative. With time my digestive symptoms got a bit better, I no longer have severe pains or diarrhea, burping became much less. I only have some mild cramps and intermittent wind which is tolerable.
I started having nasty hot flushes recently and did some hormone tests and ultrasound and it seems that I am heading into very early/ premature menopause and that it is the cause of all my symptoms.
oh I did think you was very lucky getting this all done by NHS .. well good for you .. what’s having money any good for if you haven’t got your health xx
