Crap days are getting more frequent...

As I said on my main heading...this is just yet another crap day...

Over the last few months, everyday is becoming a crap day, as in the way am feeling, how the day is going...

Am going through physio at the moment, it's very hard going, this is making me feel even more crap...am I doing too much? If so, am only doing what is requested by medical professionals.

It's only since I had a slight TIA, since then every day makes me feeling crap...or should I say even more crap than normal...

Am happy with meds that am on. There not great, but they help with some of the pain.

Hello Joe

When I was at the slimming clinic they had me doing all these exercises and with my disability I could not do them, eventually they let me be and organised a new course of exercises that I could manage sitting down, Granted I was unable to push my spine and joints but gentle exercise was ok done in moderation, fair enough I got a bad report at the end and when I received my copy from the physio I felt let down although I managed and the doctor was understanding and they have asked me back to a different clinic.

What I am saying Joe tell them your feelings, say what the problem is and they should be able to change the exercises to more gentle ones, it is not a competition and should be done in a gentle way. know your limits

This department should listen to you and take on board your concerns. The saying more pain more gain does not come into it. Give them a chance too put things right.

We all have periods of crap and we try and make something positive out of them, we all have periods when we feel sorry for ourselves and need some form of support when flare ups and pain get on top of us, then we come here to let off steam as everyone of us get down in the mouth.and need support

So just ask them to slow down, say you are having troubles, they should listen to you it is not an army training site and we have our limits, tell them your limits,

All the best

It's not just the physio that making me feel crap, it's just the way things are now. I think deep down everything is now getting to me.

Maybe am on the way of having a break down, this I don't know. On this my gp has made a appointment for me to see a shrink, on which I do next month.

Have the last 6yrs caught up with me now, ye I think so. All this worrying about my condition slowly deteriorating, now I think I've paid the price.

Hello Joe

Over the years I have had quite a lot of treatment regarding the same, also due to my condition I had tried to take my life so I also keep taking anti depressants for 20 years we all cannot be expected not too suffer with our nerves all the time, hence this type of web site. Sometimes it may be just a chat with the GP to put things in perspective, my doctor expects that of me, tomorrow I will be at the doctors to discuss what is going on in my life.

Their is no slur on seeing these people, many years ago my then doctor sent me to see a pyhc, the result came back what do you expect, then the doctor knew he had to keep an eye open on me. Over the last ten years I have had talking treatment many times, they will find your needs and give assistance. Do not worry it will help you cope and this is what all of us have too do My wife now has to control my meds so that I do not take overdoses, so they know what is going on. she now even orders my tablets etc.Now I am very absent minded

You may even get some prezzyies

Hi Joe

It's no wonder you are feeling like this given that you've had to put up with it for so long. I hope that seeing a shrink will help.

Physio will be hard because you're making your body do stuff it doesn't want to do, but you should tell your physio how it makes you feel. TIAs can make you really tired too.

When I was going through a very dark period I did what I could to be nice to myself. I forced myself to look for something positive out of every day - it didn't have to be anything amazing but could be as simple as having a cup of tea that tasted just right, or not crying quite as much as the day before. I made a point of not putting pain on the list because it wasn't getting any better and I was wasting energy thinking about it. I made sure I wrote down my positive moments. It might sound a bit touch-feely but it helped.

I also made a list of things that made me feel better - this included pain relief, and ordinary things like wearing my favourite socks. Having it written down meant I actually did the things on the list.

It's rotten feeling low, I have had depression and recently had a spell of being down & very hard on myself. It might not seem like it but it's possible to feel better in time.

Look after yourself.

Hi Joe,

I'm sorry you are feeling so low, and I realise it is not just at the moment, but day after day. However, all the above comments are sympathetic and helpful, even if it just helps to know that people care about you and many of them do understand because they have been through it too.

I am beginning to understand that physio should be done gently, I found I was trying too hard and had to ease up a little, but I think when we feel so low we just want to do anything that we think will make us feel better. I do hope the psychologist will have something positive to say, a listening ear can be very helpful - not like the one my husband saw many years ago who didn't want to listen at all but just gave him pills which stopped him sleeping, but didn't tell him they would have this effect, and my poor chap was getting so frustrated he felt like hitting the man when he saw him next, and was THEN told that this would be the case!!

Some medics have a lot to learn!

Take care, Joe, you are in our thoughts and prayers,

So sorry you feel like this. I often do too. It just grinds you down doesn't it, pain day after day... People not understanding, etc. my problem at the moment is not getting decent meds and having to wait so long before the next thing is tried.

I don't know about you, but the weather makes a big difference to me too. Winter has dragged on for long enough. Time for a bit of warmth and sun. That always makes me feel a bit better. Take care.
