I have had 2 major falls but due to the 1st fall I was undiagnosed wrongly by my GP without seeing me.

I had a major fall & at the same time a district nurse took photos of my back & hips. My GP was informed straight away & without seeing me my GP told me it was sciatica. I was left like this until I could take no more. I was rushed to hospital & diagnosed with 2 fractures of the spine, a couple of ribs & my sternum fractured. I was in hospital for a mth. Then 5mths later I had another fall & was taken to Royal London Trauma centre, again more fractures, I was in for 2wks & sent to another hospital for physio & p/management, that was another 2wks, sadly I did not get any treatment due to the shortage of staff, plus the last week I was there, I was put into a locked ward, (I don’t remember much due to the large amount of opiates (knowing that I had NALD), but they carried on giving me drugs to knock me out. I managed to come around, obviously I was getting immune to the meds & I overheard a doctor & asked “what am I doing here”?. He looked at my notes & told me that I could go home. The staff was not happy & tried to stop me but my meds & transport was ready to take me home. My carers came to meet me at home (this was over the Christmas), when I got home, my carer lost count how many patches & bottles of opiates I was on, amongst many other medications inc (Lidocaine patches), that I had never been on them.

Almost 3 & a half months, I’ve started P/management at my GPs (by phone) which they tried me to go cold turkey. OMG I was climbing the roof, what do I do, I have an appointment in 2wks. I’m on some pain reliefs, but this is torture. I’ve had no physio, so it has left me with my right hip has come out of alignment & my R foot is now pointed outwards.

I don’t know what to do, every way I’ve tried, the DRs & my GPs, all stick together. My GP tried to say that I was delirious & sent an ambulance around to me. Luckily they was on my side, & did not have to go back to hospital, I was not in the state that my GP said I was in, I was in pain.

I now don’t trust anyone, even the hospital. I think that I shall wait for my appointment to the P/management at the hospital.

what would you all do?

sorry I’ve gone on, but I do need some advice.

thank you

OMG you poor soul this is blatant ignorance, and Malpractice, firstly write a complaint to the GP telling him/her that you're taking this further and then look up Ombudsman against GPs, explain everything that's been happening and see where you go from there, Don't let them away with it. XX😤😡

I am sorry to hear what you have been through. It sounds like you could do with an advocate. Towards the bottom of this page there are four organisations that might be able to help you.

hi, sorry to hear about your situation. I would complain to the gp , do you have someone to help you? I find it hard to believe they wanted you to go cold turkey, I was on patches for 4 years and had to stop but I had to wean off over two months now on nefopam for pain. I to am due at the pain clinic in may but my pain was diagnosed medically unknown and my notes say complex case. I hope you get the help you need and deserve. Kevin
