Posting here as hopefully someone can point me in the right direction, has had the same or can give some advice.
For approx the past 9 months I have been getting muscle aches. The period I am getting them for / the severity of them seems to be getting worse.
The aches are across my upper body. My upper torso generally feels tender and my arms are painful, sometimes like a dull ache ,sometimes a throbbing pain which goes to my hands. The pain generally lasts days at a time. It doesn’t stop me doing anything but is always just ‘there’ and is uncomfortable.
I have seen my GP a couple of times- had an ecg which was fine a standard panel of bloods done which showed lack of vitamin d. Not sure whether these tests would have shown anything more serious.
I mentioned to my gp there is MS in my family (uncle) as this worried me with muscle aches but he said that muscle aches wouldn’t be the first symptom and ruled I out.
I have found lately I am getting more tired, really struggling to concentrate and focus on tasks and sometimes not remembering things. No idea if related.
sorry for the long post but just seeing if anyone has had anything similar as GP basically told me to do one last time as tests were ok, I’m sure something isn’t right though.
Thanks!

Hi Muzza, yeah exactly the same here! 😘. Easy things to try are keep hydrated with water/cordial drinks, take your vitamin D's as prescribed, maybe a multi vit drink in the morning to boost you.My gp (🙄 /sigh) recently told me to power through the tiredness. A well needed nap is very very lovely however it alters the body's awake/sleep clock. And get "some light exercise" too when getting sleepy or not concentrating.
My bloods have been relatively fine, bit low on B12 and D, yes it does feel like there should be something else!
thanks for the replies! No change since taking the vitamin d! Worried as muscle aches can be signs of serious conditions but after having the standard bloods done I’m just being told to deal with it 🤔. Trying to keep as hydrated as possible Health8472 , thank you!
You need to see a rheumatologist. I think they need to rule out polymyalgia rheumatica. You may need a steroid medication.
They also need to rule out inclusion body myositis. The later is an autoimmune disease that affects muscles. It can affect legs, arms and fingers. Good luck.
There could be many reasons for your muscle pain. A simple ANA for autoimmunity issues would be warranted. I have several autoimmune conditions, and they are tricky. I have to admit I ignored the first symptoms, just pushed it to spine problems, which turned out to be a miserable parathyroid tumor, that has nearly destroyed my spine. Neck pain, arm pain, wrist pain, leg pain, spine pain, nerve pain...the tumor is out, but I'm 10 spinal fractures, 4 spine fusions, 2 tibia nerve transfers, and left and right wrist/hand surgery. I also have AS...which caused the most muscle aches, then spasms, stiff pain...but it seems to be intertwined as an out of control autoimmune disease process. I missed a lot of the early signs...willingly. I was also lucky, my surgeon sent me to a Rheumy in their practice, as he knew something was wrong...my ANA was 1280>...alarm time. I've now had 15 surgeries, the autoimmune conditions are under control, and the pain is reduced. Keep going to get it figured out, don't except one doctor's blow off...pushing on can be good, but sometimes you need a bit of rest too. I was also told by Rheumy that Vit D3 must be checked twice a year, and in months without a lot of sun, I must take 5000 iu per day, in the morning, with my coffee/cream. My levels stay betwen 60-80 now, and I rarely get sick. In the sun months which is 9 months of the year for us, I take half that amount daily.
I agree ask to see Rheumatologist they can order blood tests your GP wouldn't know which can lead to a diagnosis. It took 10 yrs to get my Fibromyalgia diagnosed then a couple years for Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis and I asked for a lip biopsy to get the Sjogren's Syndrome I knew I had. In the meantime if I were you I would ask for a steroid Z pack you take it for a week to see if it helps calm down inflammation
