Travel advice on flights with a little one

Hello,

I have a few long flights ahead of me, I'll be traveling with my wife and six month old. It helps to say it's going to be an arduous journey for a healthy person anyway.

I'm trying to keep my expectations very, very low in the hopes that it will be better than I expect, but I've had chronic back pain for about 15+ years and while it hasn't steamrolled me completely, I'm quite flattened by it. I had two surgeries to fix the pain, but sadly it only made it worse. Most of the pain is in my QL and shoulders/neck area.

I'm responsible when it comes to taking medicines in safe doses (acetaminophen) and doing yoga, stretches and the limited exercises that I can handle. None of these things really help much, but I feel it's better than nothing.

I live in Germany which recently legalized cannabis, so I'll probably take an edible before going through security, but if anyone has any advice about pain/traveling/traveling with little ones,

Thanks and best of luck to you all.

NoHi Resqc. I have a T9 compression fracture. I did it, I don't know how in October 22 whilst in Tenerife. At home I was given zomorph capsules and Oramorph liquid, both morphine meds. They helped a lot. I'm in menorca at the mo and it's flared up again so have asked a doc here for those to help me get through until I get off the flight on Sunday. Fingers crossed. Re the little one make sure you have a bottle for them to suck on taking off and coming down in the plane.

I saw someone with coloured sticky tape with their baby and the child was very happy sticking it on and pulling it off the arms of the seats. 🤗 Anything to that keeps them occupied. I have a back brace too but my pain is mid back. Take a freezable gel pack too. It helps. Good luck.

Book yourself an aisle seat. You can then get up and potter round the plane so your back doesn't seize. Little ones, lots of activities colouring book, games.
