Just to say hi Have suffered from Spinal Stenosis on and off for many years. It comes and goes each attack lasts approximately 10 - 12 weeks and is most severe in the morning. Have tried recommended exercise and pain killers.

Good morning Robinsoncruso,

Good luck on your journey with Stenosis. I have it too. Out of curiosity, when you say it comes and goes, do you mean when it’s “gone” you don’t have any day to day pain?

My pain is daily, I’ve just my meds adjusted to help with it, I’m in some fairly strong stuff. NHS physio is booked and swimming sessions to try and build up the core a bit to help stabilising it.

Do you do anything to help?

Hi Berto, thanks for your reply. When I get the attacks they last 10 to 12 weeks. The pain killers I have make little or no difference. I carry out physio exercises three times a day. I am unable to swim due to previous shoulder injury. When I say it comes and goes by that I mean once it gets better it maybe several years before another attack. Have you found a pain killer that helps?

Hi Robincruso!

No not really, I’m currently on buprenorphine patches to help with the continuous pain. It’s helped but the pain still gets really severe. I started up swimming again, my back was really bad after that, I’m hoping it’s just a phase and will strengthen my back 🤞🏼
