Hello, I have had the exact issue as you but on both sides at the same time. I have multiple back issues, but this has been a new thing that i have suffered with for about 3 months, I have not been to see GP yet, my wife tells me to see him and I should. I think a scan is the only way of checking it out, so I would say you should also take this path. Good luck as I know the pain is unbearable.
I have same - multiple degenerative spine, spondilythesis and degenerative scoliosis - pain when laying on right side that is in buttock, outside of leg - similar debilitating pain when walking where pain goes into calf and standing for longer than a few minutes is impossible - all I get told is it’s my age/most people my age (66) have degenerative spines and all GP did was send me videos of exercises and to take pain killers - appreciate not more can be done - spine can’t be replaced but some empathy would be good from medics
I can’t sleep on one side either, due to I think nerve pain , I get sciatica if I try to lie on that side , apart from being a nuisance it’s disturbing when your trying to get comfortable for sleep. I hope you get sorted soon
