Restless legs nerve pain in legs and was on pregabalin but got nerve pain in face so put on carbamazepine anyone else had these for nerves pains

Hi. I was prescribed Pregabalin for nerve pain and had all sorts of side effects including nerve pain in the face. I was then prescribed Carbamazepine but did not find it as good, so now I have been on both for 12 years but reducing slowly to come off of them. I had awful nerve pain in legs and arms and fatigue before being on meds. I was eventually diagnosed with CFS and Fibro. When I changed GP Surgery the Dr's there and when I have been in hospital query why I am on both but as it helped they just leave me on them.

Hello I'm new here, I suffer from chest pains, I was diagnosed with fibro a few years ago now, I found a forum on here about costochondritis, it sounds like everything I have and the popping of my sternum helped, I was very sceptical at first but it worked for me.Hope it helps hun 😊

I’m same mark tried pregabalin it made my face tingle and numb. I’ve tried gabapentin, nortripyline and amptriptyline. None which have worked only caused side affects. So I stop taking them. My doc wanted me to retry nortripyline I said no. What the point when it didn’t work. My nerve pain is ankles feet hands and arms.

Hello NicholaB90 and Catr12, I will look at that forum you mentioned Nichola. I found Nortriptyline were like smarties and did not work. I am on Pregabalin, Carbamazepine and Codeine. The Codeine is for Hiatus Hernia and I have had 2 Inguinal Hernia repairs left and right that both became emergency surgery. The right I have just had done and I was in theatre within 12 mins of arriving at hospital due to incarcerated bowel. The junior Dr tried to push hernia back in and I am left with bad pain. The Dr's say that you can get pain for life after a hernia repair but is this what they say or Fibro making it worse. Bloody nightmare!

That sounds awful mark. What I don’t get is they just leave you in the pain. It horrid. I will look to at group Nichola mention.

Sorry I forgot to say when I had restless legs which I thought were the meds side effects, I was prescribed Clonazepam which for me did the trick. Hope that helps, Mark

Am on amitriptyline for nerve pain in feet. Knocks me out so I get some sleep.

Hi, I was put on carbamazepine a few months ago but I put on so much weight in just a week that I took myself off them !!!
