Anyone know wtf i can do?

Was talking to a pharmacist yesterday and she mentioned "Pain tool kit"?? I looked it up on NHS website. Some bloke wants £45 for something i should've got years ago from the pain clinic.

About 3 years ago i went to the pain clinic, the guy there basically refused me any help, said i was too old (i was about 42). Then he gave a different reason to my GP (can't remember what). Point is, what can do?

I can't make a complaint because it was over 12 months ago. My GP just ignores me and ups the painkillers. I'm trapped on my own, with chronic pain in my balls.

Any advice is welcome.

Is there no way you can pay the £45? I know when I was at my worst and extreme pain I would have paid anything. And I did. Bought a Tens machine limited help. Something called a pain pen (from Amazon) which I find extremely helpful. Worth looking at. Mine is the more expensive one that don’t need to keep activating. Just switch on once and off once. My problem is my back so wouldn’t have been practical to buy cheaper version.Yes I understand must be frustrating that pain clinic weren’t helpful. Guess like anything depends very much on who you see at clinic. Some people rave about them and some like you have a rubbish result.

The £45 was for (what it looks like) a course to help with living with pain. I would assume the NHS could give me help with that. It's not about the money. It's more just the frustration. I feel like everyone just left me to rot.

I get it. They are busy people. If there's nothing they can, then there's nothing they can do.

The painkillers hardly help, i think i may have a slight opioid addiction now hahaha

Your GP should have some idea what is causing this pain. I can in some ways understand the reasons the pain clinic referred you back to the Doctor.You need an explanation from your GP and there are other Specialities that may be able to help. Have you picked up a Sexual Infection etc

I signed up for a free pain corse that the lady explained that I must live in South East London and that it would be zoom calls and they would help me build a pain tool kit don't know what it is but I'm willing to give almost anything a try right now. Look online for free pain courses in your area hopfully you will find something to help.

I looked on the mentioned site last night. Pain Clinic set at hospital are a fantastic resource. I attended for about eighteen months a long time ago, re Chronic Joint/nerve pain. Acute pain they prefer to allow some time before they will make a decision. Are they not checking or giving you any idea how long or the cause of the pain, It would seem you need to know the cause and effect. That will possibly give encouragement over this possible extended period. After an operation it may take time for the problem to settle. That could be the reason for your problem The area is very sensitive and there may be some scarring

Emails can get lost in the system. Either literally or because someone is snowed under with work. I know that problem!Maybe try phoning PALS direct. The people I know that have used them have found them very helpful.

Hello, I’m sorry to hear about your problem, but as I don’t know where in the uk you live, I can only suggest looking for pain association websites. In Scotland, there is a free pain association, which do free 10 months course on pain, you can of course continue past the 10 months, there is no limit. I found it very useful and also I would ask to be referred back to the pain clinic, as to me you have not had the best from it, and there is better with it. Good luck and stay safe.
