Hi Amy, when I had the catheter bag on I would strap it to my leg with a elastic tape it helped a little until what ever is wrong can be sorted . Clive X 🤗

I found that it got more comfortable over time, however stay in contact with you drs if it’s anything more that uncomfortable, in case of an infection.

Hello kernowdot,I just like to know if you could tell me when you have catheter how would you know if the person has infection and how often you need to change the catheter( not the bag).

Thank you.

Mine was in for approximately three weeks. I started off with a lot of pain when bladder was in and then urine went quite a dark brown. I then felt dizzy and then felt cold and hot at the same time. They discovered it was sepsis and was admitted in to hospital.

I would say if something feels like pain instead of real discomfort speak to your GP who could give you antibiotics. I think if I did this, it would have been cured with a course of antibiotics instead of a hospital admission. Lesson learnt.

I am sorry to hear that you was admitted to hospital for sepsis. You probably right by going to the hospital for this emergency because the GP might not know as quick as hospital than you have a risk.

I think if you catch it early the GP and mention the concern any GP should give anti biotics. I left it too late, but fortunately I went when I did.
