Brain Tumor?

In November of last year, I had what I assume to be an asthma attack (only speculation because I haven’t been formally diagnosed with asthma...yet) and I’ve been grappling with asthmatic symptoms and a myriad of other nasty symptoms ever since (which I presume are related to the flare-up). Had an x-ray done and doctor noted that my lungs were hyperinflated and my blood pressure and heart rate were elevated. Among the symptoms I’ve experienced is a new onset of headaches. I think they’re tension headaches but they’re unlike any other headache I’ve had. They seem to be episodic and occur at random. They may or may not respond to OTC medication but they eventually come back. Sometimes I get this sudden, sharp pain on one side of my head that lasts seconds and disappears. Fortunately, they aren’t debilitating, but they’re still bothersome. I’m really worried that these symptoms could be indicative of a brain tumor or something serious. I’m only a teenager...I’m too young for that!

You mention are a teenager. How old are you? Meant to be at least (I think) over 16yrs to come on this site. We cannot diagnose you. New symptoms can be caused by anything. You need to speak to your gp and/or family about your concerns.

I would also advise anyone who has issues with headaches to go to an optician to have vision checked. Could be as simple as needing new glasses. Which is often the cause of headaches.

You are worrying about brain tumours. Despite what you read in the press or google these are rare and often other reasons for headaches. Again we are not medics here. You really need to speak to a doctor and optician.

Hope you get reassurance you looking for.

I’m 16 years old. I’ll be 17 on April 5th.

Thank you for your advice; I’d like to think it’s stress and anxiety bought on by a prolonged flare-up, but I’m not so sure. I’ve always had the tendency to think the worst. I’ll be in contact with my doctor hopefully sooner rather than later.
