Rib & chest pain

Rib & chest pain ive been in the worst pain for nearly 3 weeks i can’t breathe talk walk lay down sit comfortably work look after my kids iv been to hospital twice first they said infection and gave me antibiotics didn’t work went back agen they said broken ribs but I really dont think it is the pains in both my ribs and inbetween my breast bone like bad pressure no painkillers or naproxen are working iv had enough has anyone else had this how long does it last

Have they said that it isn't costochondritis, because that is what it sounds like it is. If so, it can take weeks to get better. It is hard to have this sort of pain and also have to take care of kids. I hope you start to feel better soon and can find someone to help with the care.

Yes, sounds like costochondritis to me, which I also get, and it is very painful. I had checks for heart, lung etc. problems first, but came up with nothing, which was good. The way I deal with it is to do stretching exercises, which hurts at the time, but helps in the long run. I sit on the edge of the bed in the morning when I am about to get up, and stretch the area that hurts for a few minutes. Sometimes I am totally free from it, but it always comes back again to varying degrees.

good evening tonixx im sitting here time unimportant as pain dont really care what the time is i really feel for you as i know were you are..its hard to explain why you are in and out of hospitals doctors do really care you might get a few who dont but we need to blame someone i spent 22,000 us dollars for stem cell treatment i dont really care about the money..you cant take it with you.so as for the pain now well its a lot better.ok as for pills get the strong ones i do i also exercise every day at one stage i could not walk..tears of pain but my 3 daughters went to the hospital saw the doctors and he booked it in for me it was back pain..i was on crutches could hardly move..but...i have exercised most of my life i still do im 74 still have most of my a,b,s .i walk through the pain i get.tired yes but the next day im up at day dreak depends on the seasons.and of i go..i put my music on and of i go.if i get a lot of pain ill take strong tablets..dont matter what other people think..the pills i take are 200 mg palexia .if i was some one were i lived close to i would do my best to help you..as it is i do help people in my way..sending some of my irish luck to you.just try your best ..regards john.

Do you have pain in your upper left stomach area under your ribs? Because it could be your stomach, gastritis often presents as chest pain and pain under ribs, though I hope the hospital would have checked for that. If it was your stomach then naproxen would make it worse.

I’ve been struggling with rib pain for a while too, it’s the worst! Have you found any relief!

No medication helped at all just hot water bottle on the areas
