I too suffer from shin pain - you can look up shin splints. I find hiding a heat pad or hot water bottle on the area helps. The pain is supposed to be caused by unusual exercise which doesn’t apply to me.

The pain is awful. Good luck.

Hi, just wondering if it's shin splints? Have you been any kind of exercise involving jogging, running etc, especially on hard pavements. Have read up on the condition and see if it relates to you.

No not at all. I'm thinking it's coming from my back - spondylolisthesis. Thank you for replying.

I'm certainly no authority on medical conditions but can't see the connection with your current condition as it's below the knee...and most shin problems initially stem from muscles... if you can't think of anything you've done in particular that might have caused a strain in that area as it's an unusual place ...even pushing down on your toes sharply..? Heels tend to put strain on the knee....If not, think it might be best to mention it to your Gp... you might be able to do an online consultation, rather than go to the surgery. Take care

Is it your shins or calves? I have Cervical Splondosis and feel pain in my calf.

When you say you think its stemming from your back, you're probably right. Take care

Hi, thank you, the pain would take your breath away. Consultant says all the indications point to back surgery. I'm terrified and reluctant. You take care of yourself.

You might want to try doing stretches. It can't hurt and it might help. You can Google stretches for shin splints.

Hi, thank you for that. I think it may be coming from my spondylolisthesis.

Hello , as you have existing problems it maybe the cause of the shin pain, however speaking from experience I would say you need orthopeadic assessment, which can only come from your GP. I had shin pain which turned out to be knee problems needing a replacement. It was initially diagnosed as possible meniscus tear. So off to the GP as soon as you can as these things take a long time to process normally, longer during lockdowns. Leg elevation and heat pads might help in the mean time.
