Upper back pain

.Hi..I'm new to this community..I started to have muscle pain in my upper back(..I've stopped exercising recently due to feeling ill with hyperthyroidism )Over the last few days the pain has settled in my spine area below my shoulder blades and is quite severe (google says pancreatic cancer!) The thing is,about 3 years ago I had an accident and have 2 compressed vertebrae in that area...I'm wondering if these kind of injuries can cause pain as you get older?..(I'm 60) Any input would be welcome...Thankyou.

Are you in the UK? I know things are difficult at the moment but if possible get a referral for an MRI of the spine cervical and thoracic areas. Just to put your mind at rest it is not connected to your spinal compression which can quickly escalate as you get older to stenosis or myelopathy and is better dealt with at an early stage.

Thankyou for the advice..I've booked a telephone appt with my GP on friday.( I am in the uk)..If they think you need it they will see you in person so hopefully get the ball rolling...If theres no joy there I'm even considering taking a chunk of my pension and paying for an MRI..Its expensive but I'm a worrier and need peace of mind..Thanx again
