Anyone know what meds can help me, I stay in my bedroom because I have no interest or motivation to mingle in the world ,I am not depressed or anxious when I stay in , however if try to go out and mix /participate in the world , the world overwhelms me and I get very stressed out.
Question is : what medication had help you overcome your fear anxiety , panic?.
Hope the above makes sense and any advice will be much appreciated.
You need to see your GP to try to get the root cause of your anxiety and phobia. There maybe strategies that can help you cope in the outside world, there are services that you may be referred to to help. I think perhaps you need to try that before medication route. Hope you get the support that you need
You need to see your G.P as soon as you can explain everything to them, my Doctor who was so young saved my life she was great, but please don't think that you can just take some Meds and everything becomes sunshine again because in truth it takes quite a while to find the meds that suit your needs you may be lucky and find something straight the way that works you may find cognitive therapy may help but meds are not always the answer but make an appointment when you can I wish you Luck my Friend
Sorry to learn you're find it difficult coping when you are out. As it doesn't affect you 24/7 I'm inclined to think that it's not meds you need but therapy. There is help out there for you, probably your Gp is the best person to refer you to get that help. You don't say how long this has been happening, is it something that's been going on for a long time, or since we've had the covid virus? It does sound similar to agrophobia? so have a look at this link as you may find it helpful. nhs.uk/conditions/agoraphobia/
In the short-term, before you try to get to the root of your problem... Propranolol. It is actually blood pressure medication but in much smaller doses it works amazingly for anxiety. Some violinists take it to stop their hands shaking, some actors take it before they go on stage. Takes about half an hour to kick in but once it does, none of that racing heart, dry mouth anxiety. A little fast-acting miracle! Must not be taken if you have had asthma but obvs. you'd get it through your doctor and would mention that to him. I'm wondering how old you are, whether you've thought about aspergers or autism? I may be way off here but from what you write, those two conditions immediately came into my mind. Whatever, the very best of luck to you!
Hi, suggest speaking to your doctor before taking any medication. Some suggested medications can be lethal if you have asthma, so speak to your GP.
