Hi everyone. Started on Pregabalin 75mg twice a day along with naproxen 500mg twice a day, this is for suspected sciatica. The pain is bearable on these meds but not gone, I only started preg 4 days ago the night dose is fine cos I'm in bed but about an hour after taking the morning dose I feel as tho I've had 2 bttls of wine this lasts about 3 hours, will this go away? Or will it get worse? Thanks for reading

Hi, not a doctor but I will share what has worked for me...btw 2019 spent 6 months not walking, 2 months in hospital, multiple neck fusions, multiple spine operations and my spine machine in my body broke down and had to have that replaced (batteries, wires etc), 5 years , living in pain but i found a really good tablet, it is called Arcoxia that I took every morning with 2 paracetamol, for me it was better then naproxen, pregab etc, it gave me hours and hours of pain relief, maybe call your doctor and ask them , you may find something that will really help...good luck, I understand living in pain and things will get better

I was started on a 25mg dose and increased it gradually to 100mg twice a day . I found once Id been on pregabalin for a few weeks that i got used to them . I was nervous about driving when I first went on them but after a week or two there was no problem .

Hi there, yes have had sciatica for quite some time. A few operations on my spine but I won’t talk about that as you asked about the woozy feeling after taking pregabalin. For me it took about 2 weeks for my body to get used to pregabalin and for the zombie like state to get better. It did get better so don’t worry about that. I am on 450mg plus dihydrocodeine 120mg a day. It helps by taking the edge of the pain so I can at least function on a fairly normal level sort of. The only time the woozy feeling gets worse is if you increase the dose. If the low dose helps just go with it and do not increase it too readily.

I think you will find that your body will gradually adjust and these symptoms will diminish.

I take 200 mg of pregabilin a day, ive been on different doses of this for a while, but i have to say for me that side effect hasn't changed, sometimes its better than others, but that drunk like, not functioning side effect sometimes how i have to get through, I can still feel my pain but it just makes me a little less bothered about it. I really hope the side effects get better for you and you get some pain relief. xx

Have you tried physiotherapy or is your sciatica that progressed? It can help significantly for some people.

I couldn’t tolerate pregabalin. It made me very agitated, irritable, dopey and I did not feel safe driving a car. It did not help my pinched nerve.

Naproxen is known to be hard on the stomach. Be careful.
