I have been taking metformin for about 6 months now, I have a lot of muscle/tendon pain and skin soreness. Is it a possible side affect?

What else are you taking?
Thyroxin and citalopram stones93
I'm sorry I can't help you.
I alao take thyroxine and metformin and I also get alot of muscle pain which I was told was my thyroxine as my thyroid was overactive which can cause this and my tablets were adjusted after a blood test and after a few weeks I feel alot better when was your last blood test?
I have been taking metformin for 12 years and never had such pain. Are you possibly also taking something to lower your cholesterol? Some of the drugs to do that can lead to the pain you describe. I had to have mine changed.
I got aches and pains whilst on Metformin. No skin soreness that I recall. My overall experience was so negative I stopped taking it.
Pain muscle ache.. not sure if I experienced this. Aa a side effect. But metformin does lower absorption of B12 & iron which in turn leads to muscle pains. That I have experienced. Brain fog.. confused..mental health issues. Weight loss. Overall I take extra iron & b12 which has improved muscle pains. ( wrist, arms.) Muscle weakness. Regards
