I fell and broke my back in October of last year and had pain like I have never felt before in my life. I had surgery on my back in January of this year. And, since that time, I have had residual pain. Does anyone have any suggestions to help in lessening the pain? Thank you....

Broken Back...Any Suggestions for Pain Relief?
I suffered a fractured spine many Years ago,it gave me loads of Crippling pain . I had loads of X Ray's MRIs etc etc etc, after over 15 years of pain a Mobile MRI unit was at the Pain Clinic, it was Ran by some South African specialists. I was given another MRI by the visiting Specialists and they found it straight away, I also had a Calcium build up around it. Because of the time it had taken to find the old fracture it has now caused a "Degenerative Skeletal Disease "! No ones fault it wasn't found sooner as far as I'm concerned. I have had Spinal injections that the benefits were not worth the extra pain. I now take Zomorph and Oramorph amongst a few other medications tried Gabapentin and Pregabalin but the side effects made me ill. I think sometimes we just have to accept the Pain won't go away but some medications can take the edge away from it.
Hi I had 4 ops for a herniated disc and got a fusion the last time (earlier this year). I also broke a vertebrae in the middle of this. Not exactly what you have but possibly similar in pain. I am now due facet joint injections soon as they have deteriorated badly from all these ops, and a nerve pain injection to help the pain in my leg. Aside from that for me it helps to take pregabalin for the nerve pain and dihydrocodeine for the back pain. I have had these injections before and found they helped quite a lot so fingers crossed for that as I don’t want to be on meds for the rest of my life.
I have tons of med issues including severe chronic pain n severe neck n back issues. For me..pain meds covered up the problem like a bandaid but no steady relief or a life for that matter.
Started medical marijuana over 10 years ago n have never looked back,n no more prescriptions of any kind.
Its not for everyone BUT if where u live ..its legal..it might be worth considering n trying.
I have a life n relief. Its not a cure but it is a life saver.
