What are some of the reasons or ways that epididymal cysts become painful? I’ve recently inflamed my cyst by irritating and palpating it too much - will this pain be permanent and will thud cyst grow?

I think you have answered your own question in that you irritated it and now it is painful. It could be that you have caused some inflammation. Just keep an eye on it and stop irritating it, and see if it goes down again, and if it either doesn't or it is still painful then see your GP.

Yh I understand. Do you think the fact that there has been inflammation means there will be aches in the future? Also do you think the inflammation will have triggered the cyst to grow ?

I see that you have asked this question in other forums too and had some good answers. Really, the only people that can give you definitive information about your particular cyst is the doctor who examines you. But generally, inflammation comes and goes, and shouldn't have any long term effects.

Thank you. I’m just someone who worries a lot so I need a lot of confirmation. I’ve been extremely worried that as I’ve inflamed the cyst it will be very easy to trigger it again and make these aches a regular occurrence or trigger the cyst to grow. I really want to have kids and don’t want this to affect me.

It can be hard not to worry about things, but sometimes worrying about something can make it scarier than it really is. I am sure it won't affect your fertility if you leave it to heal.

If the cyst is accidentally minorly irritated again, Will this cause complications Or will everything still be fine as long as I let it heal? Thank you for all your help btw.

Everything will be fine if you let it heal. Try to distract yourself with something else. Do you have a hobby? Are there some films you like to watch? Do you have some friends you could have a zoom call with so that you can have a laugh and forget about things for a while?

I love sport but I haven’t been able to do any. I always have this issue in the back of my head and it’s stopping me from doing anything except looking at my phone.

Then try to do something different when looking at your phone. Does your phone have a camera? Trying going for a walk and taking photos of unusual things that most people just walk by and not notice.

thanks for the suggestions. I just can’t shake the feeling that my stupidity may have caused long term consequences. How can I be sure that once the inflammation is over, the pain won’t return?

You can't know until time passes and in order to make time pass you need to occupy yourself with something else other than worrying about it.

Grab that phone and take some photos!

My cyst inflammation had greatly subsided. However, I masturbated yesterday, although I made sure that my testicle wasn’t moving. However today I woke up with some aching, could this be because I ejaculated? Also, A few hrs ago I moved some furniture and I feel even more aching. I’m worried that I’m going to be in as much pain when I wake up tomorrow as I was when the pain started 2 weeks ago. I feel stupid and really worried I’ve caused permanent damage
