hi sullivn, I have chronic sciatica on my left side due to arthritis and nerve compression. I get pins and needles in my left foot. It’s been going on for so long. The bottom of my left foot sometimes goes numb. I have no answers but I think I know what you are experiencing especially if you have back problems. Feel well…

Hello, whenever I see the words ‘pins and needles’ I always ask, have you ever been prescribed the antibiotic Ciprofloxacin (Cipro) which is one of the family of drugs called Fluoroquinolones for an infection? It could be recently or months ago. You don’t say where your pins and needles are, in your back, legs or feet? I had Cipro for sinusitis 9 years ago and have now been diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy due to Cipro. Are you UK or USA based? BW Isobel xx

Hi, I’m in the UK too. Do you think the Pins and Needle pain is because of your back? I take it you have never had a Fluoroquinolone antibiotic. I ask this because I have, and the pain is excruciating! I’ve had it for 9 years. My Consultant in Pharmacogenetics diagnosed me and said my Peripheral Neuropathy is permanent with no treatment and no cure. I’m not saying you have the same as me, but it could save you a lot of heartache trying to find a cure for this. Yours could be a trapped nerve or something similar. I wish you good luck in your endeavors. BW Isobel xx

Hi sullivan, Sorry to hear about your pains. Like you I have pins and needles in my feet. For whatever reason it starts if I sit for more than a wee on the loo. I get acute pins and needles in my feet, can't feel the bones etc in my feet. My feet feel like blocks if bricks and are acutely painful if I stand. Luckily the loo is a few centimetres next to the door and I grab onto the door frame. It can take up to 30 minutes before the pain stops and I can walk again. I also get pins and needles in my hands sometimes too.

A good friend has said I have Vitamin B12 deficiency. I've looked on YouTube for quite a while, the NHS website, and my gp surgery website and believe I have it and have done so for some time too. I shall be seeing a gp next week hopefully about it. I have arthritis everywhere and a compressed spine too. I've never git any help for my spine & think it could be the reason for it.

Please look into it for yourself and get help from your gp too asap. Please keep us posted All the best 😍
