I’m waiting for my 7th referral to the Pain Clinic. My first was in 2014. I have read all the information again and again and again and nothing has changed. Why am I expected to go through this all over again when nothing has changed (apart from incomplete/out of date sites). It seems I just have to wait. My pain won’t wait, eg kyphosis, s-shaped scoliosis with rotation, hip pain. Pain from rheumatoid arthritis with secondary Sjögrens, fibromyalgia seems controlled at present but I also have ME/CFS and FND. I have read that scoliosis isn’t painful. My Mum is 97 and has it for years with no pain. Since my back surgery (micro-decompression at L4/5) in April 2020 my pain has brought me to tears on an almost daily basis. I know this is my rotational scoliosis because of the painful lump that protrudes from the right side of my lower back and x-rays done by a chiropractor. My GP will not refer me to a Scoliosis Specialist, saying that the Pain Clinic have ‘sorted this out’.

Any mention of PAIN and it’s straight off to the Pain Clinic. Is there ever an end to how many times this system fails before I can get treated for the cause of the pain?

Good Morning, l have S1 L4 and L5 back damage they wanted to put a rod in since the incident in 2019 , on researching about a rod l decided against it . I know how you are feeling l could not walk for nearly 2 years , on the research l read a spinal Dr said do not have anything done for at least 2 yrs your body will heal itself . So l did l am walking now but not very far about 10 min around the farm l live on . What l find is the Drs will NOT give you pain meds like Naproxen , Tramadol etc . l found going to a pain clinic made me worse ! I am 72 yrs but feel like 50 . l went to Addenbrooks and Hitchinbrook for scans they said l have nerve damage nothing can be done with nerves . I got some Naproxen Sodium from USA they help alot . Go on youtube and look up Quantum Med Beds that are coming out soon they will fix anything and everything wrong with your body . I am living for the day these Beds come out . I have read the Government knows about them the Drs and nurses MRI and Xrays will be Obsolete so l am waiting on this they are Holistic . Go on Rumble also . I will get my life back Drs don't care anymore 😁👍

I'm sorry for your suffering but believing conspiracy theories and throwing your money away on bogus devices won't help you.

Thanks. I’m lucky to have a husband who also doubles up as my carer. I can do very little around the house. I can walk holding on to furniture around the house but rely on an electric wheelchair outside. I sometimes use a stick but I do tend to trip over it and as soon as I stand up straight my legs start to go dead. He will be coming to all my appointments with me as the brain fog descends and I get lost for words. Changing GP’s is on the cards but can’t change surgery because as soon as you say which surgery you’re with, they won’t accept you. Moving house is the next aim but ‘frying pan into the fire’ springs to mind. I don’t think they bother too much when you’re nearly 70. BW x

They really don’t bother when you are nearly 80! It is a do it yourself health service these days I’m sorry to say. My husband passed in 2016 so I’m on my own with everything. You are very lucky to have him. I changed GP’s because all the medical staff had walked out en mass. So I changed my surgery, trouble is everyone else moved too! Can’t win xx

Hi, I live in Wales! The Pain Clinic here is just not worth going to, once was enough! It’s a do it yourself health service now. I have much of what you have and just have to get on with it. I was prescribed Gabapentin for leg pain caused by the antibiotic Ciproflixacin, a fluoroquinolone drug which has damaged my tendons, caused peripheral neuropathy, axonal sensory neuropathy, tinnitus and dizziness. I already have scoliosis, a degenerative lumbar spine, 3 slipped discs ++! Gabapentin seems to be what’s given out for any and every kind of pain these days!
