Lock down Spain and The Canary Islands.

This was brought in at midnight last night.14th March 2020.

Tourism is the life blood of these islands and with Hotels, bars, restaurants, knacky knicky shops shut so many will have no money for rents or food. Wages are already low and rents high.

There is however a huge community spirit among everyone. People looking after each other not just themselves. People first not money.

So....with a house full of people and 6 dogs life isn't exactly going to be quiet

The president of the Government, Sr Pedro Sanchez has just announced a few minutes ago a number of measures which will be applied for 15 days in the WHOLE country;

- Restaurants and Bars will be closed. It will be allowed "home delivery services".

- The retail trade activity is forbidden.

- Roads and Accesses can be closed.

- ALL Education Centres will be closed.

- Limitation of freedom of movement. It is only allowed to get out of your houses ;

- Buying basic needs products.

- Visiting Health Centers, Hospitals and Pharmacies.

- Going to work.

- Going to the bank.

- Walking your pets.

- Going to take care of elderly people or with any disability.

We are fine although this may go on another month. Lucky as we have big garden so can at least get out of the house. Carers are still allowed to visit those in need...you can't be expected to manage without them. Who made the decision you had to do it alone?

They just stopped coming and one off them put a note through the door saying sorry and with phone numbers on for the last two days I have been ringing the numbers but know answer so today I will not waste my time ringing, if I get this coronavirus I know I will die from it

You are not going to catch it and you are not going to die...not while Im here anyway. So there.

Are they private carers or provided by the council/social care?

You should be able to contact your local social worker and thump her desk.
