Messed up thumb

Hello friends, i might be posting in the wrong thread but recently i got into accident on a motorcycle and everything was pretty fine expect it seems like i banged my thumb really hard into something. It was hurting and started to swell, but never felt broken bone painful, i bought a brace to hold my thumb and a few days have passed but i’ve started to develop bruising around my thumb and at the bottom of my palm. i was wondering if this is serious concern and whether i need to go to the er or not because i don’t have insurance . Also the pain come from where the thumb meets the hand and a little further back into the hand. I’m adding some pics on imgur here imgur.com/a/CdCwhyE. Thanks in advance for any help.

Bruising after an injury is not uncommon. There are ways of telling if a bone is broken. Do you have a tuning fork? ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

Often soft tissue damage looks more of a mess than a broken bone and those tendons can take longer to heal too. Not only that, sometimes the bones are good at healing themselves without help from doctors.

So if you don't have insurance you would watch and wait, but if things get a lot worse then the ED might have to be considered.

??? Partial tendon tear. I have very similar pain with an injury I got year or two ago.

Unfortunately I was unable to see ur pics but...for me..I went to a doc..did xrays..showed nothing.Sent for an ultrasound and that's where it was found.Doc said not to do surgery lets do p/t.I did it helped for awhile and then given suggestion by p/t. Wrap the finger with this stretch sticky bandage.Not too tight,but not loose either...for the pain.

How it works??cant explain.I still get excrutiating pain and swelling at times.This stops it immediately.

Personally I would def go to a clinic or ur gp and at least get answers.It could be serious or maybe just an easy fix.

You can often self refer to physiotherapy. Ask at GP reception or minor injuries Dept. They can Xray I think and give advice. It will take a long time
