i have been suffering from a tension headache for three and a half years. I’m currently on Venaflaxine 37.5 but it doesn’t take the pain away. Does any one have any other suggestion for pain management? I have heard that Botox injection might help?

Botox may work but u may wanna try traditional nerve blocks first. I use CBD and THC for my daily migraines which helps.. Botox injections are very very expensive and not covered by govt health insurance and many extended health plans at least here in Canada. Good luck - have u tried massage or acupuncture or addressing source of tension? I find hot bubble baths help sooth tense muscles too.
Thank you, I’ve heard a lot about CBD. I’m willing to try anything, massages will definitely try too
Don’t discount THC for its muscle relaxing effects.... CBD works on my nerve pain...
I had positive results with Botox injections. If they are free on NHS much better than any other medication.
Did you try reg nerve blocks b4 Botox? Does Botox work for longer periods of time? Asking cuz it’s 7-800/bottle and 250 / injection session... not covered under Canadian version of NHS...
I don’t know much about Botox treatment. I was just wandering if any one had tried it.
Thank you, for that, I have an appointment with my Gp next week I’ll Discuss it with her
Hi Anne I have heard botox can help with migraines but I believe there is a long waiting list to get it xx
Thanks Maggie
Thank you
Venlafaxine is for this constant headache that I have. I have an appointment with the doctor next week. I think I asked to have my meds reviewed
I’ll have a look
Thanks
I was told I had tension headaches and suffered from October to January 2018/2019 it was awful, it took that long before it was decided I needed a blood test, which showed I had polymyalgia, I was then prescribed steroids which my doctor eventually weened me off slowly, think I took them for approx 10 months. It's never come back!!!!
Talk to your doctor and maybe get a blood test.
Hope all is well for you soon.
Thank you for that , I have an appointment next week . So I’ll ask if I can have one
