Chronic diarrhoea with painkillers
Hi
Some pain killers might do that, check on the side effects. Pain killers make me constipation, I have to have lactulose. What other meds are you on. Take care Lynne
Thanks Lynne. I’m on a right cocktail at the moment. Waiting for results of MRI on a trapped nerve in my neck. But have to be careful with painkillers as I have Diverticulitis and IBS. I’m going back to Drs today. Take care. David
Yes, I have those too plus sciatica, degeneration of the facet joint, gastritis, compensatedcirrhosis of the liver (originally nafld caused by meds from my drs over the years, Nash (non alcoholic steatohepitis and then compensated cirrhosis of the liver) fibromyalgia depression, under active thyroid, diabetes type 2, costochondritis, sweat profusely, itch all over, oa in knees.
My pain meds are
Nortriptyline, zomorph, oramorph, codeine, duloxetine, indometacin.
Good luck at the DRS, let me know how you go on please. Take care Lynne
This is a quite common side effect of many painkillers and antibiotics. Some can make you constipated, most people take diocalm tablets for this side effect of painkillers. But your not supposed to use diocalm for a long time. Arrowroot in drinks ect can help prevent this side effect. And Senna is useful for constipation or oramorph.
