Do you mind if I ask for a little more information? If your doctor has prescribed that for you and it’s working then great if not go back to him x

Hi - this isn't really enough information to respond. I don't think there's any problem with it. I was on that for a while but eventually changed the gabapentin to Pregabelin. If you have breakthrough pain, go to your GP. Good luck!

And remember you can only take 50-100g of tramadol every 6 hours and no more than 8 in 24 hours so I wouldn’t use it as a when I need it painkiller, it’s best to be consistent with it

I take Tramadol when I feel I need extra pain relief but Pregablin with Norotryptylene works best for me most of the time for neck and head pain. I do have other Arthritic pain though that these don’t touch.

Oops, we're only supposed to take 50-100 at a time?

Yes didn’t your doctor tell you that? It’s written in the leaflet and also would say on your proscription? How many do you take then

Max is 100 every 6 hours no more than 8 tablets in 24 hours

Interesting. Pain consultant told me I could go up to 150mg at a time, although never more than 400mg in 24 hours.

Yes but they weren’t talking about slow release tramadol, I’m talking about normal tramadol and that was an error or my predictive text that I didn’t write mg sorry.

Even with slow release tramadol you can still only take 400mg in 24 hours. That’s what I’ve been told by every doctor, consultant and pain team anyway

“For chronic pain:

For oral dosage form (extended-release tablets):

Adults—At first, 100 milligrams (mg) once a day. Your doctor may increase your dose as needed. However, the dose is usually not more than 300 mg per day.

Children—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.

For oral dosage form (tablets):

Adults and teenagers 16 years of age and older—At first, 50 to 100 milligrams (mg) every four to six hours as needed. Your doctor may increase your dose as needed. However, the dose is usually not more than 400 mg per day”

Hmmm. Well, when my spasms are really bad, it's either 150mg tramadol or Oramorph, and I avoid Oramorph as much as possible.

Why won’t they give you something to stop the spasms? Oramorph and tramadol do nothing for my spasms I have to take clonezapam
