What's wrong with me
Hi
I'm so sorry you are struggling. Could you ask your Dr to refer you to pain management or orthopaedics. Pain management might refer you which is what happened to me. The first 2 pain management teams I was referred to were rubbish. I'm with someone good, now. I've got sciatica , spondylitis and degeneration of the facet joint, on the right it has crumbled. I had a diagnostic nerve block on the facet joint but I am in more pain now than I was before. I don't know what they are going to do next. Take care Lynne
Hi Jonn. I’m Andy. Jonn It is probably best to get your g.p to refer you to a Orthopaedic specialist as ‘Oldham12’ has said. They may get an M.R.I scan taken. Head to toe. This really should have been done especially dealing with the problems that you are having. They need a clear picture of what is causing you so much pain my friend. Hope this helps. Take good care of you👍
Hi John, like Oldham as said I would ask your GP to refer you to a orthopaedic don't leave things as they don't get better so to be safe than sorry get it checked out mate as these sort of things can lead to other issues. Clive
I suggest having your vitamin levels tested especially your b12 and vitD. That back and leg pain maybe siatic pain but best see your doctor to get diagnosis
It looks as if you have a spinal issue in both lumbar and cervical spine. Push for a consultant appointment for an MRI to see what is going on. If you are within travelling distance of London, a referral to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosugy is what I would ask for. It is a centre of excellence for spinal issues.
Thanks. I seen neurologist yesterday (I was lucky to get cancellation appointment.) He has referred me for M.R.I on lower spine. And upped pregabalin
Fantastic getting a cancellation. Hopefully your MRI will not take too long in happening.
I hope so. I need to change my g.p. he is terrible. He tried to say I was imagining the pain. Everyone has told me to change in my area he has a bad name. I hope I can get a diagnosis after M.R.I as it has been going on for nearly a year and now I am getting pain up my arms and hands. God knows what's going on. Thanks for your help
I would push for an appointment with a neurologist or neurosurgeon and an MRI of your back.
Idea to check iron panel bloods, vitamin B12 and vitamin D bloods John. ?
I have had these same conditions, turned around, but sadly these vitamin blood checks are rarely linked to your above conditions. Personally I know they can be.
Though not saying it is the same for all, but might be worth getting these bloods checked even to rule them out .
Private bloods or finger prick bloods can be done at home and results are sent through by email.
Numbness or pins and needles in extremities are a classic listed symptom of B12 deficiency.
*Most important - Always get B12 bloods checked before supplementing B12. Otherwise it can skewer results and difficult to prove you might have a B12 deficiency later.
I've noticed more pain when I take Vit d3 supplement. Bizarre really.
No, just as bad, thanks for asking. How's,? Take care Lynne
Thank you. I had diagnostic nerve block as I've got degeneration of the facet joint. It made my pain worse. Waiting to see what they will do next xxxx
