Hi there I've been on here before so ill just give a brief description. for 7 months had cronic pain.started in tummy witch was burning on the inside and the back felt like was going to snap. its now all over my body.skin burning it was like really bad sunburn and bone pain. saterday just gone i woke with ulcers in my mouth and most horrible pain around the hole of my back and tummy felt like it was going to explode and the added pain all over but that was not as serve and burnning skin cumming up with pin needle rashes. my mother was very concerned and took me to piper hill out of hours doctors. told the doctor everything from saterday when the pain got alot worse. he said it is a classic sin off nerve pain?? Has anyone had these kind of symptoms? and could it be symptoms of lupus or fibo? Anyhow the doctor at out of hours gave me Oramorph and up my Gabapentin to 300 3x a day .and he ordered some steroids' tablets that i suck for my ulcers and some cetirize for my skin. thay all help but i dont want to be Oramorph for ages. so i have have had a gastrocopy, MRI on lower back and bloods there taken came bk all fine. i went to see gastrologiest on monday for first time, he did more bloods one for weat allergy could nerve damage be a sin of that i am alergic to weat? He wants me to have a clonoscopy and a CT scan on tummy has anyone had one of those scans before? if so would nerve damage show up? He has put a refferal in to ask my normal practice doctor about seeing a neurologist or a Rheumatologsists as he thinks i am seeing the wrong specialist. i am worried about the waiting list. please help i have no life cause of this. i have a 7 year old that it is affecting feel so sorry for her. my mum had cancer last year and worred for her as she is running about after us i carnt stay at my house cause i am at mums as she is looking after us. please people can u give any advice in so much pain. ps i asked my doctor about pain clinic he said no for now. thankyou for reading

Sorry you are feeling so poorly. It sounds like you are getting lots of tests done, which is a good thing because it means they are trying to find out what's wrong and that will mean you end up with the right treatment. So I can see why your doctor has said no to the pain clinic for now - the pain clinic would probably want to make sure you had all those same tests done before they could do anything.

Try not to worry about your mum and your 7 year old. You can't help being ill. If your mum's struggling she is entitled to a carer's assessment from social services - they might be able to help with some practical things to make life a bit easier for all of you.

I've had a bit of nerve pain - nowhere near as bad as yours though. It's not nice. Hope they can help you get on top of it soon.

Thankyou for this i can understand now why my doctor said no. Do you think its good idea to see about assessment do you think it would be that i have to have a diagnosis first for that? Hope your nerve pain has stopped now and you are well :-)

The worst thing about pain is not knowing what is causing it so it's great your GP has referred you to many others. Don't worry about being on morphine, if it helps your pain then great. I hope you get your answers soon x

Not sure if my doctor will keep me on it for to long ill have to see how i go. You are right its hard cause i don't know what the problem is and i makes u worrie more you think of all sorts. Thankyou for your kind mess everyone is lovely on hear. And hope if u are unwell that u are having a good day with things :)

Take whatever you have been prescribed to get you through this stage until you see the consultant. Refer yourselves to Adult Services at your mums local council so you can be assessed for assistance.

It sounds a lot like a drug reaction? I've had plenty. I used to be able to take anything, now with the fibromyalgia I can't take so many med's that I used to. It's like my body rejects them. I've had the colonoscopy and the scope down the throat, the c-t scan and the worse is the prep for the colonoscopy. The tests are painless. This sounds crazy but look at your finger nails at the cuticle and count the half moons. People with fibro have less to no half moons. I have 3 small ones out of 10. Other fibro friends have that to none. Hope this helps you. If I can help out with anymore questions I'm here for you sweetheart!!!! xxxx Mitzi

Hi thank you for your kind email means a lot that people can be supported.

There is couple more questions so hope you don't mind

This whole thing started 7 months ago with burning in my tummy radiated to my back that's why I had a MRI on my lower back as my doctor wanted to make sure it was not my back.

can Fibro start in just one place on the body but now spread all over body?

Can fibro cause nerve pain all over?

Is there a specialist you can go to for diagnosis for fibro?

What do thay look for in colonoscopy?

Can ct scan show nerve pain or damage?

As the pain is constant don't seem to have any brakes with this is fibro constant? Mind you tho since Saturday and uped gabipentan and put on oramorph the pain has esased and burning is not as bad, that will proberly be help from allergy skin tablets I do know that I can't tolerate the heat, is heat a sin?

Thank you for reading xx:-)

HI

I think the CT could show trapped nerves but a EMG (nerve conduction test) would show damage as far as I know. I have severe nerve pain and chronic pain so know how you feel.

I think Rheumatologists can diagnose Fibro, think they test certain pressure points for pain.

My brother bought a really good book called Fibromialgia for dummies! Maybe check that out

Hi

Personally I think the MRI scan should be done on your brain, none of the scans you are having will show up nerve damage, as for the cause of your pain, it can be any number of illnesses so please try not to jump to conclusions and worry you self sick, but I would insist that you be referred to your local pain clinic or the nearest one that deals with nerve pain, there are different one as I found out after attending the wrong one for 4 years, you need one that deals with nerves and not muscular skeleton problems, after years of dealing with doctors I firmly believe their budgets count more than referrals that cost them money but please be firm but polite and insist that you have a MRI on your brain and see a neurologist, I have m/s and although I haven't suffered the same problems I have been in constant nerve pain for 15 years now and there is help but sadly you have to push, mither, nag, to get your G/P to refer you

I hope this helps a touch and hope you receive the help that is out there sooner rather than later good luck and best wishes to you and you whole family

Hi there thankyou for this i can say tho i am not jumping to conclusions as i have no idea what it is that is coursing this. And just trying to get peoples thorts on what i could be summing things up. My doctor has now referred me to pain clinic good point i will ask him about different pain clinics. Luckly my brain is not affected by this but i know its all connected. I know because i useto suffer from depression that my doctor is bit reluctant in passing me on the different scans and taking me more serious than if i didn't suffer from depression. I maybe wrong but lots of people have said that. I just. I just feel why is this happening i would like answer's. So i can get on with life with my girl. And not relying on family. I am thinking about changing doctors but if did and there no good i would not be able to go bk to this doctor. Thankyou again and i wish u luck with your illness :)x

I GOT A DIAGNOSIS OF CHRONIC NERVE PAIN, ARMS, HANDS, LEGS, FEET AND ABDOMEN IN JULY LAST YEAR.

ITS BURNING, STABBING, TINGLING, AGONY, FRIGHTENING, DEMORALIZING AND A WHOLE LOAD O OTHER STUFF.

YOU PUSH TO SEE A PAIN SPECIALIST, AFTER MANY MANY TESTS AND CONSULTANTS, THE PAIN CONSULTANT DIAGNOSED ME STRAIGHT AWAY.

I'M ON 300MG X 3, 3 TIMES A DAY, LIDOCAINE INFUSIONS EVERY 8 WEEKS AND LIDOCAINE PATCHES, 3 A DAY.

ALWAYS IN PAIN AND SOMETIMES UNBEARABLE BUT YOU HAVE TO KEEP GOING, YOU JUST HAVE TO, AS HARD AS IT IS AT TIMES.

BE PUSHY, BE ASSERTIVE AND BE HONEST ABOUT THE IMPACT ITS HAVING ON YOU AND YOUR FAMILY

GOOD LUCK

HIYA, YES THE PAIN CLINIC IS THE BEST WAY TO GET HELP AND A DIAGNOSIS IF NO OTHER CONSULTANT/TESTS CAN FIND ANYTHING. GO, SHOUT, BE STRONG AND PUSH FOR THE PAIN CLINIC.

MY LIFE HAS CHANGED, CHANGED A LOT.

WORKING HAS BECOME SO DIFFICULT DUE DEBILITATING PAIN. BUT IM A VERY DETERMINED PERSON AND WONT GIVE IN, I HAVE AT TIMES THOUGHT ABOUT IT, BELIEVE ME, BUT YOU HAVE TO KEEP STRONG, BE POSITIVE AND BE AROUND POSITIVE PEOPLE, CAUSE NEGATIVITY IS SOOOOO WEARING.

GOOD LUCK

GWEN
