With the recent announcement of cannabis prescription protocols from the government there will be more conversations happening within parliaments about the future direction of policy.

I will continue to share on these discussions when they happen and any research.

Here is a link to House of Lords talking about the new direction. There is concern about the cost pressure on the NHS from chronic pain referrals on relation to this but on the plus side there is talk of future research.

Canada just made Cannabis legal for main medications, they are making the stuff into an oil that does not give the regular side effects like cannabis.

I was checking on the stuff several weeks ago and I got hold of papers explaining regards this and starting a farm. I have a copy of the paper on computer, although you could try You Tube or even just the Web under Canada etc

Yes that is true, I have an interest in Mental Health. I am getting on now, so I thought would come back to where it all started for me. I will also be on various other sites here as well, so it will keep my hand in.

I am considering getting back on to various NHS associated Think Tanks again. I was dealing with Mental Health then, I had to stop because of illness. It will be Pain if I go back there as a volunteer.

How are you these days ? .

The cost of cannabis compared to the cost of morphine tramadol all of those drugs will be hugely different and much less expensive. Most people wouldn’t need to be on horrible painkillers if they legalised it to help with Cronic pain , the NHS wouldn’t have to deal with all the aftermath of coming off all the painkillers because cannabis doesn’t have withdrawal symptoms.

I really hope the next few years this contry changes for the better but I really can’t see it 😒

The reason there have been no research into cannabis is the pharmaceutical companies. They won't be able to make the zillions they do now from other pain meds.

So...all this rubbish about the gov doing studies and research is mainly hot air. Will keep them busy for years to come. Sadly at our expense.

What they should be focusing on is the research which shows long term and increased doses of strong opiates etc has no effect on pain.

These drugs were only 'invented' for cancer patients at end of life. Never intended for us....just effective for short periods.

Sorry my soap box getting an airing!

Exactly , however if they could see how much money America is making or just little people now things have changed it would bring in so much money for them especially here .

I have successfully come off morphine and tramadol since finding out I was pregnant but my god was that hard and now I’m back to being on full bed rest with nothing to relieve the pain lol.

I wish all us chronic pain sufferers could band together and march on the house or lords to show them the truth about it all

Maybe one day eh x

I have a friend with EDS who took cannabis all through her pregnancy. Consultant knew and was quite happy.

David is coming off Oxycontin...slowly...as it was having little effect. But he does vape in the evenings. That conjures up a rather funny image!!

Due to cannabis being widely available here it is likely mainland Spain will push research etc through to all Europe. England won't be able to avoid the effect.
