This Pain is a real pain!! I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired. ..... and in pain!!!

I’m in so much pain in so many different places that I don’t know what to do anymore. I have Oxycodon, Oromorph, Fentanyl 100 and the usual partridge in a pear tree. It seems as though sometimes all the medication have a meeting during the night and decide to go off on holiday. I’m usually very good at enduring pain (I once walked about with a raptured ovarian cyst. I thought it was just one of my many pains)

I think it’s time for Cannabis oil. I can just see my GPs face after making such a request!! 😮. It would be as though I’ve asked her for a few bags of cocaine so I can snort a few lines 3 times a day. I laugh at myself because if I don’t laugh, I will fall apart and not be able to stop crying. It’s so hard when you don’t have family on your side.

You are my family....... You care about me, understand what I’m going through, you don’t think I’m a lazy hypochondriac and best of all you encourage me. Today is simply not working. I don’t break down in tears because of pain; but today the scores are Lady P– 0. Pain – 100😞😔😢😥

I need all the prayers and help I can get.

Thank you. I eventually gave up and took my sleeping tablet. I know it’s not the best thing to do but I was so desperate that I felt it was the better of many evils. 😞

You would not be on Oramorph or oxycodon if you were a hyprocondiac! Remember as with all medication cannabis oil will work with some but not others so please don't expect to much. I. Take Zomorph Oramorph and a lot of other high dose medications for pain ! I also take as a PRN diazepam and again other meds! I have just started meds for my heart (I do have one somewhere even though my younger brother does not think so as I won't get him a new xbox he is 42 with the mind of a child autistic) I am starting to wonder if some of the meds I take are causing other physical and mental health issues? Just be careful please if the oil doesn't appear to work tell your Dr as there are other things you can take!

My doctor would rather have pins poked into her eyeball 👁 than give me a prescription for cannabis oil. I had to fight for Oxycodon. I’m sure she’s one of those idiots who think we just need to do a lot more excercise; a marathon or 2 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ , swimming 🏊‍♂️ 🏊🏼‍♀️ the English Channel once a day and if we can squeeze in Pilates and Stretching 🙆‍♀️ 🙆🏼‍♂️ we’ll be just fine.

Please shoot me now😩✋🏻🤚🏻

Change your DR ! too many think pain is just in your imagination, but it is not! I got so angry I told my previous GP I no longer wished to deal with him as he was ignorant and treated the Surgery like an accounts office! the Practice manager and myself had a chat and I was transferred to another DR within the Practice! he has a foreign name but is a great DR,he listens and literally gives you a health MOT . I have never asked for specific medications but if he felt I needed them I am sure he would suggest them! seriously think of changing your GP . remember they are not the "God's" we were taught they were as children!

A huge problem I find is the Dr. If their not on your side it makes things so much harder to deal with. You go to them for help and then they tell you rubbish like " do you go walking" ? Really that's what your going to ask someone who is in soon 24/7 and can barely lift a arm to get out of bed in the morning. If your Dr isn't helpful, find another, and keep going until you find a decent one as they are the ones that can start off the help you need by refering you etc. I hope you find the help and support you. This life of living with these illnesses is so hard and anything we can do to make our lives just a little easier to tolerate we need to do.

Hi Penelope. What is the cause of your pain. I read me and my pain journey now over 12 years in your post.

1) Fibromyalgia

2) Myalgic Encephalitis (CFS)

3) Nerve pain

— Most likely caused by too much surgery. I have nerves in the Coccyx, My arms and chest area and any other areas that want to have a go) The nerves keep firing constant pain messages to the brain when there’s no source or need to do that.

— They sometimes tell my brain that there’s an influx of histamine on my arms and chest. It’s a painful itch that doesn’t go anywhere with scratching. I use an IM antihistamine to calm it down.

4) Left knee joint pain

5) Hemiplegic Migraines.

6) Lower back pain that renders me motionless (doesn’t do much for the pain but I can’t be upright)

7) Hypersensitive Rectum

— I had a lower anterior Bowel resection with the formation of an Ileostomy. I lost my rectum and part of my colon. After reversal, my bowels refused to work.

The stump of rectum I have is a Diva. It’s hypersensitive!! When the wind blows, it interprets it as a tsunami 🌊. Can you imagine having to use irrigation kits simply to open my bowels!! I dare not pass by MissyRec. I start crying from the bedroom because I know she’s gonna get me.

8) I’ve been having excruciating pain on the upper right quadrant of my tummy. It’s so painful it keeps me awake at night. I finally managed to grovel enough to deserve a referral. All they would tell me is that I have a cyst on my liver. My appointment with the liver clinic is in September. I did the scan in May.

9) Angina

10) I can’t have anymore surgery for Endometriosis as the surgeons claim I will not survive it so, I simply endure the pain.

I think I should stop. I’m beginning to feel sad 😔. I’m all on my own with zero support from anyone. It makes the pain worse than ever

Hi ladypenelope, I know how you feel , my best friend pasted a comment on how it’s all in my head during the week that hit me like a ton of bricks, i have never rang this friend to complain when I’m having a bad time , I’m thinking if my friend thinks this way everyone else must as well, I used to read about people living with chronic pain and remember thinking god it must be horrible to be going through that and people not believing you , now I know how it feels , feck anyone that thinks it’s in your head and that your lazy , I just hope you get some relief, don’t waste your energy on people that say things like that . X

You’re just what the doctor prescribed. Use as often and as much as needed. It’s difficult having an invisible disease. We are the tough ones. We will keep on fighting and when we get tired, we will simply jump into bed until we are ready to continue the fight.

My sugggestion is get it from a reputable source, and be aware it might not work. I am also thinking of trying it as a means of pain relief, but it might be available on NHS soon I understand cos it is expensive to buy yourself. I know how you feel, had to put up with people thinking it was in my head, well it is, my brain does not know how to cut off pain signals but nothing can be done to make it oblige. You are a strong person so keep on going hopefully it will pass soon. Take care

Very kind of you. I’m sitting tight till I can get it on the NHS. I can imagine myself high as a kite running around (or rather waddling) along naked on my high street 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂 with the police 👮‍♀️ 👮‍♂️ in hot pursuit; not sure how to bring me down as there’s quite a bit of me 😂😂

Hi Penelope

I too was on huge amounts of meds including Oxycontin 80 and Oxinorm 20, Lyrica 300mg, Rivitril twice daily, low dose aspirin, blood pressure medication and vytorin. When I moved state my Doctor asked if I would like to try to wen off the Oxycontin in lieu of a synthetic form. Now I take 300 long acting Tramadol daily and 100 mg up to twice a day if needed. He also put me on the Rivitril. Best thing ever when combined with Tramadol. As a result of chronic ongoing inflammation that started as a result of my nerve pain in the coccyx and thoracic T6,7 I got a Nonproliferation blood disorder.

I can't tell you what a difference changing from Oxycontin and Oxymoron to the Tramadol 300 long acting and 100 short acting. The process took weeks or months. I dictated the terms at which i was comfortable exchanging the dosages. My Dr was brilliant. The difference was amazing. No more placing my morning meds on my bedside table, I could get up, shower and have my meds with breakfast.

Out of curiosity do you have high platelets? Pain is not subjective, pain in pain.

I hurt for you and hope you find the a level of pain that becomes manageable.

I had a bad reaction to Tramadol post surgery and nearly died. I still suspect it was a combination of errors and good old negligence. Blame it on poor defenceless Tramadol. The Oxycodon is I use is quick and short 10mg.

Sorry you have to deal with such an intractable problem. I was on oxycodone for nerve pain due to spinal stenosis and failed surgery. Developed a tolerance to the point I was taking 400mg/day and still needed more to feel decent. Took me 6 mos to stop the narcotics and now take pregabalin, valium and cannabis. It is better than constantly getting withdrawal symptoms and my life revolving around oxycodone. Hopefully you can find a combination of drugs that works for you. Best of luck.

Thanks family. It’s such a great feeling knowing that you are here for me. The best part is that there’s more of you than my family. 🤸🏼‍♂️🤸‍♀️
