After having my 1st appointment in almost a yr with my rheumatoid consultant she finally made the decision to do something to help with the severe pain in my knees that I’ve been struggling to put up with for over 2 yrs, I was sent to have X-rays done there and then and she has booked me in to have the fluid removed and I’m not sure if it’s some type of steroid or something else but it’s injected directly into the knee joint, I’ve had this treatment a couple of times in the past and it really does help for a while, the 1st time I had it done it lasted for about 6 months but the time after that it only helped for around 10 wks, but the way I feel at the moment I’d be happy with even a single wk of relief, feel over the moon as I know I’ve only got to put up with the constant pain for 1 more wk and then I will have at least a few wks of relief, just need a break from this heat then I will be a very happy camper as it’s really not helping matters 👍🏻😊
Overjoyed : After having my 1st appointment in... - Pain Concern
Overjoyed
Its usually cortisone injections I believe, that is fantastic your getting some pain relief, I know it's not easy living with pain day and night it can affect your sleep and mood to.when's your next appointment?
I couldn’t agree more it definitely has a knock effect in regards to sleep and mood issues, I suffer with terrible insomnia and I’m currently being treated for severe depression and anxiety, so that combined with extreme pain 24/7 really is difficult to cope with at times, my appointment for my knees is this Friday 👍🏻😊
Keep us updated, best of luck for your appointment.I suffer pain and interrupted sleep myself lol I can't even rollover a lot of times when painkillers worn off cause in such pain.I get spasm pills and they mainly work until worn off.
Awww I’m sorry to here that, I seem to be stuck in a vicious cycle where my arthritis treatment effects my immune system so I am constantly suffering from viruses and infection so have take antibiotics or antiviral meds but when I’m on antibiotics etc I can’t take my arthritis treatment which results in a severe flare up so sometimes it feels like I spend my whole life either in bed sick or stuck in because I’m int to much pain and find it difficult to get about, can’t remember the last time that I wasn’t ill or in pain, i find it so hard at times and it really gets me down 😢
