Hi All.

I have developed Mortons Neuroma in my foot. Any idea how this pain can be relieved? I am still attending the gym but struggling to push on through the pain.

Thanks in advance

I guess this has been diagnosed by either your GP or podiatrist?

As such you should have been given medical advice.

It can be cause by wearing too tight a shoe

Hi, a spoke to a podiatrist via email as it takes so long to see my GP. I now have an appointment in 2 weeks so will have to put up with it for now. Thank you for the reply x

Hi Wacko073.

I’ve had Morton’s Neuroma removed from my right foot I suffered nearly two years with the problem I was in constant pain ,only one remedy that is surgery I had two surgery’s the first one failed due to the nerves left floating everything was good for a bout six months then the pain started the reason was the nerves ends we’re trying to rejoin and in doing so created a lump each end of the nerves.I had a second surgery about three months ago different procedure no pain so far so good but this surgery also included take down fused ankle of twelve years and replacement ankle joint fitted results very good so far all this surgery was carried out at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Shropshire United Kingdom,.

Good Luck

Because this is an inflamed nerve, anything that you do which irritates it will cause it to not only continue but also to get worse. Until you see the podiatrist it might be a good idea to ease up on gym work where you are using your feet. So rest, ice, and anti-inflamitories are the usual initial treatment. Second line treatment which your podiatrist will tell you about will be injections and if that doesn't work then surgery.

You are right to go straight to the podiatrist, they are the experts in feet, and will be much more knowledgeable than a GP.
