We aren't medically trained here....do you know why you have this pain?

And have you been to see your GP?

Hi I don't know how old you are or if you are in the UK but I am in my early 50's and last year I woke up one morning with sever lower back and groin pain after turning over in bed the night before and getting a sharp shooting pain going from my right side of my groin to the left. I thought nothing of it and put it down to sciatica after 3 weeks and it was only getting worse I went to see my doctor who sent me for an x ray. The upshot was that I had broken my pelvis and spine and it was due to osteoporosis and osteoarthritis in my back, which I knew nothing about. So I would at least get it checked out. I will keep my fingers crossed for you

Wow. God how the hell did you not notice that straight away. I’ve got those conditions but had my pelvis fractured and hips with all ribs toes fingers in domestic violence on numerous occasions plus thrown out car on motorway whilst still hung. Lot my disabilities are down to domestic violence My underactive thyroid gland down to being strangled

I still can’t believe what you wrote about your pelvis and spine broke for 3 weeks. So what did they do and why hasn’t it paralysed you if you broke your spine?

It was my lower spine and a hairline fracture the pelvis was a bit more serious. But I am on fentanyl patches for osteoarthritis of my knees and we think that dulled the pain a bit. Even so going upstairs would take me from 15 minutes to ½ hour and half the time I was crying with the pain I was in.

I also have a fairly high pain threshold as a few years ago I broke my ankle and walked around on it for over a week before I went to minor injuries and because I was walking they said that I had sprained it and it wasn't until they checked the x ray a few days later they found the break and I wasn't on fentanyl patches then. I was recalled to have it put in a boot then drove myself to the school that I work in. I emailed HR to tell them what had happened and got on with my duties. Within half an hour I was told that I must go home. They phoned me a couple of days later to ask if someone had picked up my car as it wasn't there. I told them that I had driven home. They weren't impressed, I was supposed to have called someone to collect me.
