Hello,

Not been on here in a very long time, does anyone find it frustrating trying to get to the bottom of things?

I am so sick of going back and forth to doctors with no answers, I have been in almost constant pain for around the past 5 years with no answers, I had had daily headaches for over 2 years and lately I feel generally unwell and have done for over a month.

I am knackered all the time. :(

Sorry for the massive rant.

That is not a massive rank I also can’t stand it when you go to the doctor and she says I’ll give you another medicine to help you I sure would be better if you would find out what was wrong first

Yep I've been in a similar situation, I was getting these crushing headaches always in the same part of my skull and getting 2/3 per 24 hours, they would be severe and wake me up at night, and then I would end up with a different type of headache if at all possible due to being so tired, I've had them for two years on and off, and had a ct scan done the other day, just waiting on the results now, but I might have a confession here, last year I had a real bad period of headaches and I was self medicating, now I can't say for sure that what happened next was coincidence but I ended up with an internal bleeding problem, not mentioned this to the doctor though, otherwise it might sound like I took an overdose, so the headache at the moment has not been a problem, not had an attack for a couple of weeks, but boy when they come on its a horror story, so I've got a tablet that stopped the headache going into a full blown attack it's called "rizatriptan", perhaps you need to get the help required as I understand how lonely and depressing a hum dinger of a headache can be, wishing you a good Outlook on your condition and keep pressure on the doctors and don't suffer any more. Thanks

Ask your GP to refer you to an NHS pain management clinic.

My nearest clinic has a social group, which anyone can go to. If nothing else, the tea & sympathy can be helpful.

Make sure you are eating properly, & your nutrition levels are good. You might not be able to control your pain, but your fatigue will be worse, & your body won't function well if you don't look after this aspect of your health. It's one thing that we can control.

Hi Madden, several years ago I was suddenly getting very bad headaches after a visit to doctor he a ranged a mri of my head and neck and it turned out that headaches were due to damage to my neck bones which were crumbling and the neck muscles were having to do much more work to hold my head up, the result may not have been the best at least it put my mind to rest that it was not a tumor in my brain which was what I had been thinking.

The doctor told me that most pains in the head were due to other problems and nothing to do with the brain I had never even thought my neck muscles were attached to the top of my scull.

Good luck with finding a result and getting a cure.

Regards Poppy Ann.

Hermes123,

Hi Maddie21. I only know to well how frustrating it can be not getting proper answers, but more still not getting an in depth analysis as to what is wrong with one, instead of getting a generalise answer to a condition, I should know I have nearly every joint in my body in painful mode and that has been the situation for over 50. years. Emotions I have been through them all, drugs - drugs and more drugs I'm on maximum pain dosages, operations lost count and still need many more! But do they leave one better off. ? Hermes.
