Hi, I'm 22 and have been living in chronic pain for 2 years now - as yet undiagnosed (a whole other story) and starting a career, hopefully a family and living a long way from home. I often find my friends understand the concept of what I'm going through, but don't really 'get' it. I was hoping to find other people my age with similar problems, and then maybe we can have a group chat on Facebook/WhatsApp/whatever to begin making friends with one another for people who really really understand what each other are going through - just a thought!

This is very comforting to hear, and I hope you feel better soon! I'm undergoing tests and treatments, but my icu nurse friend thinks it's arthritis, so hopefully we're almost there!
I started the chronic pain journey in my 20s, just out of uni. I since had a big career change back into my chosen field (at which I'm doing really well, according to appraisals, feedback and promotions), live away from home with my husband (children weren't an option due to cancer while I was at uni, full remission for around 20 years now) and have a great group of friends who may not have understood fully exactly what was happening then but supported me anyway (and starting to understand the pain part now as we are progressing in age).
We know what you're going through if you do want a chat and some sharing of tips on dealing with the pain too.
Hi Zoe, love your title for post, sorry I am too old to help. But we have a club called the "awkward club" we challenge authority who get the job wrong and often have a moan. So good luck I am old enough to be your grandma, in fact my grandchildren are older than you.
