It is common for people to think that the flu shot has made them ill, but often it has been shown that they had picked up a virus before they got the vaccination. Our GP surgery has a flu day where we invite everyone to come and have a little fun with activities and a tombola as well as having their flu shot. All the staff had their's that week before hand, but on purpose didn't so that if we all got ill we should show that it wasn't the shot that made us ill, but a virus that we were all exposed to at the same time. None of us got ill, and there wasn't an increased in the patients reporting illness afterwards, but then we did the Flu day at the very beginning of the season before flu started doing the rounds. Next year I will definitely get the flu shot at the beginning of the season.

I hope you feel better soon.
