Hi all.
I had a Nevro HF10 SCS implanted on the 17th (2 weeks ago). I am due to get my stitches out tomorrow.
The only problem I have is that the implant is so close to the skin that it's pushing through and is clearly visible. Has anyone else had this problem?
The implant is working well, even though my knees feel a bit wobbly. (It's the only way I can put it).
I'm still sore after the operation but I'm getting there.

I've had the Nevro SCS implanted since 2012 - its in my abdomen-just to the left of my belly button. It's very close to the surface of my skin and clearly visible also. My Consultant said it's ok. If you're unsure of anything ask the Techs or Consultant at your next visit. Hope you get good pain relief. I wouldn't be without mine 😀
My implant is next to my spine on my belt line. I can't think of a worse place for it to be. I'm definitely bringing it up when I go back in a couple of weeks.

The Techs told me that they are now implanting the battery in that area. I think you'll get used to it in time.
I had a medtronic stim implanted before this. It was a lot smaller but they put this one in just the same place so it sticks out a lot further. The more the swelling goes down the more painful it gets.
Hi there. I'm wondering how you are both doing now with the Nevro? I'm scheduled to have one put in at the end of the month. Did they use the paddle instead of the leads on either one of you?
I got my nevro implant 9 days ago. I had the staples out a week after surgery. I went back to work five days after surgery. I have some post-op soreness, but that's it. We turned the device on the day the staples were taken out. So far, we've only got it on low. I'm to go up a notch tomorrow, then one every two days.
Maureen, I'm curious how your implant went. I had mine input two years ago. The device is in my buttocks and they used leads. Unfortunately, my leads moved about six months after implant and we spent over a year trying to find a therapeutic solution but no luck. I'm scheduled to have the device relocated to my abdomen (too many problems with the current location) and will replace the leads with the paddle. Hopefully you're getting the relief you expected.
I had my Nervo Implanted almost a year, only problem I had it doesn't do much for my pain.

Plus it’s worrh noting that newer smaller batteries are available for the Nevro now so recovery or battery placement issues may not be so much of a problem?
My husband had his HF10 put in his back 2 days ago. They gave him a type of morphine med but he’s morphine resistance. His pain is a level 100 and he said he would never do this again. The pain Dr has awful help and don’t return calls so my husband is suffering to say the least. It gets turned on Monday so I hope he gets a little relief. Is it normal to be cut 5 inches to put in & 3 inches for the machine. We were told no more than 2 to 3 inches total. Any suggestions on ways to help him sleep and how long did you hurt after.
my incision is 4 1/2 - 5" and under my last rib on the right side of my back. I was off of pain meds my 2nd week. I slept flat on my back with a slim firm pillow at my head. to get into bed,: I sat on the bed & lowered myself to my right side with my hand then elbow on the bed as my wife picked up my feet for me at the same time. Once i was parallel with the bed I began to roll to my back. I experienced pain level 10 until i became settled on my back. I would say I was sleeping "uncomfortably" for about 3-4 days. then it became more manageable.
I must say; " i didn't expect a 5" incision and I didn't expect the procedure to be as painful as it was".
Hi all, I had my HF10 installed into the top of my right buttock 2 days ago. I have the usual soreness that is to be expected but I also have what I can only describe as 'drop-foot'. I have little control or strength in my right foot which is not as responsive as before the op. I know it is early days but would like some assurance that things will return to normal in time. Has anyone else on here had similar experience following HF10 surgery or any other back surgery please?
