Cancelled Op

I had a date for my total ankle replacement for the 7th October, on the 3rd I received a call saying that it had been cancelled due to the parts not being available (I have been waiting for this operation since February this year and have has 2 pre-assements) I am wondering if anybody has had a similar problem and if anyone knows roughly how long it takes to have the parts found ? All I have been told is that there is a letter going out to my GP and myself (not received as yet) and that they could not tell me how long it will take to find the parts. To be honest I feel that most things can be found within a week and delivered, please not this is through the Scottish NHS. I am a little concerned as the pain is having quite an effect on my walking and am now having to use crutches instead of walking sticks now. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Can't help you with your question really but as I'm sure you know, we're all in the same boat here. In my case, I have had appointments, scans cancelled which were all needed for my surgery which has also been postponed. I too am on crutches but unfortunately have lost my job due to this chronic nerve pain.

Thank you Toplady, My real anxiety is how long to find an ankle, I am sure that there must be some available within the month somewhere in the UK, but when I asked they just said they could not tell me how long to find one ?
