After a really bad run I got up for the full day today, spent time with my family including my 20 year old daughter. We laughed and watched tv and I ALMOST forgot I have chronic pain. Yes I am in constant pain yes I even get more BAD days than good, but it makes the good days special and I try to make them the best I can. Feeling pretty upbeat so though since my other post were a bit grumpy I would share my good day, hope you are all having the best day you can xx

Glad you had such a positive day. I've observed myself that distraction can be a great help with pain relief. Unfortunately it doesn't work all the time but you are right to enjoy it and celebrate the times that it comes.
I've found that I can easily slip into mourning the times before pain when I have these days and realise just what my life has become. That's counter productive because then I loose the pleasure in the time when I forgot.
I now have the same feeling. Finally got medication for this gout. Just taken the tablets and rubbed in the ibuprofen. Give it a bit of time and hopefully I'll feel even more elated.

So what was different about the good day? This is an indication that you have a brain muscle problem that could do with investigation. The purpose of the investigation is to enable yourself to have more good days.
An Alexander teacher is worth seeing in order to get some tools to investigate the difference between the good and bad days better.
Hi all and thank you for the good wishes. I am unclear what you mean by a brain muscle problem?
I do see a psychologist weekly due to past trauma unrelated to the cause of my pain. I am aware of the connection between physical pain and mental wellbeing. One cannot exist alongside the other without influencing each other x
