So my doctor finally told me some of my pain in my arm is neuropathy. I've heard about this before because its a complication of my mum and brothers condition, so it's not new to me. But it does reinforce the idea that my nerve was damaged in my op =( He is doing his best to rush my referral which I'm thankful for.

Hi Vampress, I have periphal neuropathy in both my arms, hands an legs an feet. It is horrific pain at times. Mine wakes me up at times during the night due to the temperature fluctuating all the time. When they get to hot i wake up like im having a anxiety attack. Have to take a pain pill in order to get rid of it. I have a Spinal Cord Stimulator in my back to control the pain from the waist down from the neuropathy, I need one to control it in my arms an hands. Only thing nothing can help with the temperature not being normal ..

Hi SassyZee

Did you get the spinal cord stimulator done on the nhs? Are you with a pain clinic and did they refer you for it?

I have neuropathy in both my feet and hands, and yes, the pain is horrendous! I asked the doc at my pain clinic if I could get a nerve block for it, but she said it wouldn't help with the neuropathy, even though I told her I had read of others being offered it for neuropathy. But I had never heard of anyone getting a spinal cord stimulator for it.

Hi Flamey49, my foot dr referred me to the neurosurgeon who was doing them. I made appointment an from their on I've been pain free from the neuropathy in my feet and legs since getting the SPS. I was in a wheelchair before but I walked out on my own two feet that day. Go to the Boston scientific website and they should be able too help you find a Dr in your area.

Oh, you are in the US? Sorry, I thought you were in UK. That's probably why you got the SPS for the neuropathy then, but it's amazing that it worked! I doubt I would be offered it on the NHS though, but nevertheless I will ask about it next time I am at my pain clinic.

Hi Flamey49, never hurts to ask all they can do is say no, but take it one step further and ask if he knows of some body who might be able to get you check out to see if it would help you. Just incase yours doesn't do the SCS implants.

Hi SassyZee, yes if they don't do it I will ask if they can refer me to someone who does the SCS implants. Fingers crossed I can get them, it would be so good to be pain free in just my feet alone!

Thank you hun :)
